So, you’ve packed your bikini, mat and sunnies. What else is missing from your beach bag before you bask in the sun? Sunscreen, of course! On my beauty-only website, DailyVanity.com, I’ve encountered many readers who ask what product to use if I could only choose one. Definitely sunscreen, but preferably one that is tinted and has hydrating properties.
Here are some interesting tips I want to share with you:
#1 Apply at least a teaspoon of sunscreen
Did you know that UVA rays are the greatest culprit when it comes to causing signs of ageing, pigmentation and dulllooking skin? When you’re out in the great outdoors, it is important to make sure you have enough sun protection.
How much sunscreen should you wear on your face? The general guideline is one teaspoon or an amount the size of your thumb. If you use too little, you won’t get full sun protection.

#2 Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you head out to the sun It takes a while for sunscreen to work its magic, so make sure you apply it evenly before you head out.

Hi Marcie, most people won't recommend wearing false eyelashes on a daily basis. But if there is really a need to do so, just remember to always remove it gently using eye makeup remover. Here’s how to apply false eyelashes:
• Place the false eyelashes as close to your natural lash line as possible. • After applying the adhesive glue, wait about 10 seconds before placing it on your lashes. This way, the glue will be a bit tacky and the falsies won't slide around.

Q I am prone to getting dark undereye circles especially when I don't get enough sleep. Do you have any tips on how I can use concealer cover my imperfections?
A Hello Vivi, if you know you are going to sleep late, try placing two spoons in the freezer and place them over your eyes in the morning to “de-puff” them. After that, apply K-Palette Zero Kuma Cover Control Concealer to cover the dark eye circles. It’s my favourite undereye concealer. It has a salmon tone and is perfect for covering dark undereye circles. This product can be a little creamy so remember to set it with powder.

If you are sensitive to silicone or have dry skin, look for more traditional formulations.

Pressed, Loose and Mineral Powder Foundations Pressed powder foundations offer the most coverage. However loose powders typically have less pigment. Mineral foundations are extremely popular. Who should use it: People with oily skin, as the powder will help oil absorption and control. For a radiant finish, you can opt for loose powder rather than a pressed powder.
Tinted Moisturisers and BB Creams Tinted moisturisers combine two benefits in one, allowing you to hydrate your skin, while providing light-to-medium coverage. As for BB creams, they have become something of a fad in the past couple of years. However, BB creams on the market tend to be heavily formulated with silicone. If you’re sensitive to silicone, please be careful. Who should use it: People with dry skin tend to benefit the most.
