South Beach

Roll out your towel Now that we have dealt with the cultural options, let’s move on to the one thing that will never let you down in South Beach: the beach (unless you are into secluded types of beaches a la the Maldives, in which case you should probably refund your ticket). If you are into people watching, clean sand, warm water, endless coastlines, handsome hunks and gorgeous girls then you’ve found your paradise. In general, the entire beach is very well-maintained, but there are certain parts that should be emphasized.

The best dunes, where you will eventually end up spreading out your towel, can be found at Lummus Beach, which stretches from 6th Street to 14th Street, right around Lummus Park – hence the name…duh! Locals call this stretch “Glitter Beach”, which is pretty much all you need to know. The lifeguards could be extras on Baywatch. Lots of abs all around you.
