Catalan Tile Picture Containing Twelve Tin-glazed Earthenware Pictures of Trades, 18th century. Framed group of twelve Catalan tiles (Catalan Rajola), each depicting a different trade. They include a furniture maker, basket maker, leather worker, hunter, wait person serving wine, lady using a cormorant to fish, a man working with yarn, and three different musicians.

An example of a similar tile of a musician can be found in the Musician Municipal History Museum, Barcelona.

Northern French Blue & White Tin-glazed Earthenware Footed Basin or Jardinière, Probably Lille, Mid-18th Century. The interior with a Chinoiserie garden scene with ducks and geese in with flowering plants growing out of rockwork and an tall urn and jardinière with plants. Dutch Tin-glazed Earthenware Tile Picture of a Cat, Makkum, 20th century The tile picture depicts a cat seated on its hind-quarters with its tail curled through its legs looking forward. Italian Majolica Polychrome Master Salt In the Form of A Lady, Ariano Irpino, Campania region of Italy Mid-18th Century. The salt is in the form of a female figure in traditional costume holding a large basket with a large S in the centre. The basket is supported on a scrolled support column. This form is a typical example of tin-glazed earthenware from the Ariano Irpino region of Italy. Dimensions: Height: 7 1/2 inches (NY4983)

Charming French Faience Trompe L'oeil Dish with Apples & Pears, 19th century. The lobed dish is decorated with a pink band on the border and flowers. The pears and apples arranged on the plate are decorated with naturalistic colors of yellows and oranges. Diameter: 10 1/2 inches (NY8183-1)

Very Large French Faience Moustier Shallow Basin, Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, Circa 1885. A massive tin-glazed faience earthenware basin with a lobed edge depicts American Indians & Grotesques amongst exotic and mythical beasts and birds after the ClĂŠrissy workshop at Moustier.

Dimensions: Diameter 17 12 inches x 2 1/2 inches deep.

The V & A has a soup bowl by Edme Samson et cie after French faience which they date 1889.

Liverpool Delftware Fazackerley Cornucopia Wall Pockets, Circa 1760. The pair of beautifully coloured 18th-century Fazackerley polychrome moulded wall pockets are decorated with birds, the birds face each other as they are perched on a flowering tree branch. Each bird is painted in greens, browns, manganese and yellow. The shaped rim has a central conch shell with a flowerhead with two large green leaves to the side. Six Dutch Delft Underglaze Blue Peacock Plates, The Three Bells (De Drie Klokken) Factory, Circa 1760 The rare surviving set of six plates brightly painted in the Peacock pattern with a central display of flowers and fruit arranged to look like a peacock's tail. Dutch Delft Garniture of Five Vases and Covers, Mid-18th Century. The Dutch Delft garniture consists of three covered vases, each of faceted ovoid form, with a dog-form knop and a pair of covered beaker-form vases, each with dog-form knop. It is unusual to find covers on all five pieces.

The vases bearing partial printed collection labels Etienne DeLaun..., Amsterdam (Etienne Delaunoy was an Amsterdam based dealer, selling only high range Delftware) and the numeral 4 to the undersides.

Antique London Delftware Openwork Basket, Vauxhall Cross, Circa 1755. The Vauxhall delftware openwork bowl is painted with the lotus-pattern, the central flower below radiating petal-shaped panels. The openwork surrounded by a continuous looping dart band. Tiny frit to inner rim invisibly repaired. Dimensions: 8 1/2 inch diameter x 2 1/4 inch height Traditionally this design is given to Dublin and Liverpool potters among others, in part due to the existence of openwork baskets in this pattern. However, excavations at Vauxhall Cross revealed fragments from similar basketwork, and are discussed by Dennis Cockell, Some Finds of Pottery at Vauxhall Cross, London, E.C.C.Transactions, Vol. 9, Pt. Large English Underglaze Blue Delftware Dish with Figures, London, Circa 1770. Diameter: 13 3/4 inches Reference: London Delftware, Frank Britton, Page 161, #158 for illustration of a plate with the same design. The author discusses the discovery of the print source for this design...originally drawn by Francois de Cuvillies, who died in 1768, study of the large volume of his works in the Victoria and Albert Museum indicated that they were almost certainly engraved by Lespilliez posthumously c. 1770.

English Delftware Underglaze Blue Deep Basin, Probably Lambeth, London, Circa 1740. The deep basin painted with a Chinoiserie scene of two islands in a riverscape. Chinoiserie-styled figures, trees and rocks are found in the rim-to-rim decoration. This basin form is exceptionally rare.

Large Unusual London Delftware Dish, Circa 1760. The dish painted in pale colours of green, yellow manganese and blue depicts a large urn filled with blue flowers. A shallow bowl sits behind also with a large similar flower. The border with four designs, two of a flower in a vase and the other two of a small flower. Diameter: 13 1/4 inches (VM98172)

English Delftware Underglaze Blue Chinoiserie Dish, Probably Liverpool, Circa 1760. Diameter: 12 inches.

Reference: English Delftware in the Bristol Collection, Frank Britton, Page 196, #12.48. In the entry for 12.47, a polychrome example, the author writes, “The subject is explained by W.H. Edmunds in Pointers and clues to the Subjects of Chinese & Japanese Art (London 1934). Yao, last but one of the Rulers of China ascended the throne in 2356 BC and reigned for ninety eight years! He debarred his unworthy son from heirship and appointed Shun, a Paragon of Filial Piety, to succeed, giving him his two daughters in marriage. Shun is said to have been nursed as a child by the Dragon Queen of Long Hou�.

The large dish is painted in the central well with a Chinoiserie design of rockwork and an ornate tall Chinese building with a bird on a branch and zig-zag fencing below. Large English Underglaze Blue and Manganese Delftware Dish, Probably Bristol, Circa 1760-70. The dish is painted with an underglaze blue and a manganese cracked ice ground on the border. The central well depicts a Chinese building under a weeping tree. The border with the cracked ice ground separating four blue rimmed cartouches of buildings and a weeping tree. The pair of plates depict an oriental lady holding a fan beneath a tree with a butterfly off to her left. The border a band of trellis diaper alternating with four large reserves holding stylized branches.

The delftware dish is decorated in underglaze blue outline and wash with a rim to rim scene of a grouping of buildings around a small tree-topped hill with ships off to the left side and groupings of birds above. In the foreground are a fence and tree stumps. Massive Dutch Delft Imari Vase & Cover, Circa 1870 The massive tin-glazed earthenware vase is of hexagonal reeded form decorated in an Imari palette with each panel decorated with alternating scenes of birds amongst trees and rockwork and panels of plants separated with stylized leaf shaped designs.
