2 An avalanche of news!! Le Club Med In December 2011, Valmorel will open its 4 trident, with 5 trident area, Club Med village, at the Bois de la Croix. With its 418 bedrooms, including a 5 trident area with 24 suites, it will be the flagship for the up-market Club Med snow villages. A programme of 70 apartment-chalets will also be piloted by Club Med. This project has obtained the certification “NF HQE approach” for its planning phase. Le family plus Label Valmorel has been awarded the FAMILY PLUS label. An undertaking concerning the young and not so young: a specialised welcome for families (ski lifts, ski school, children’s gardens, restaurants and accommodation), entertainment for all ages, from the very small to the very big, activities to enjoy together or separately…

This season the ski area has two new ski lifts. A new departure from the resort with the Pierrafort gondola in the hamlet of CrèveCoeur and the Morel easy access chairlift. They provide quick access to the Grand Domaine. An improved comfort and even more time on the slopes.

At the junction of the Beaufortain and Lauzière and Vanoise mountain ranges, the Vallées d’Aigueblanche (situated 1 hour from Chambéry) offer a multitude of mountain activities, in all seasons, with a variety of ambiances and exceptional countryside in the heart of the Tarentaise.
Doucy-Combelouvière Doucy-Combelouvière will charm you and show you that tradition and modernism can be combined in all simplicity, and along with an exceptional panorama and set around its square; in the heart of the Grand Domaine. The huge unchanged area of the Lauzière mountain range, kingdom of ski trekking and snowshoeing, is accessible in just 30 minutes via the Celliers gondola.
The Vallée de Celliers/Lauzière mountain range The Vallée de l’Eau Rousse, commonly known as the Vallée de Celliers, starts at the famous Col de la Madeleine (shut in winter) and marks the Eastern border of the Lauzière mountain range. A remote valley, preserved from all development, Celliers is the starting point for numerous treks on skis or on snowshoes. The valley is linked to the Valmorel ski area by the Celliers gondola.
Aigueblanche / La Léchère At the heart of these valleys, near the old town of Aigueblanche, the thermal resort of La Léchère, born at the beginning of the 20th Century, offers treatments and “getting back into shape” stays. It is ideally situated at 15km from Valmorel, from Doucy-Combelouvière and from Naves.
The Vallee De Naves/ Beaufortain mountain range On the undulating mountainside of Naves there are a multitude of walking and trekking itineraries for snowshoers and skiers (15km of snowshoe itineraries). A marvellous cross country area, Naves has 40km of cross country skiing tracks.
The ski area
6 This year the ski area has a new gondola leaving from the centre of the resort to the Pierrafort sector as well a new easy access chairlift. They will provide a quicker access to the heart of the Grand Domaine allowing skiers to maximum their time on the pistes. A guarantee of improved comfort and “more skiing”.

Ski passes are free for children under 5 years old and for seniors aged 75 years old and over, subject to proof of date of birth. This proof will also be required for child and senior passes. The general sales conditions are posted in the ski pass offices and copies are available on request.

This insurance covers rescue costs, the reimbursement of your ski pass if you have an accident or if it is lost or stolen, your ski lessons over 4 days. Medical, chemist and hospital costs. If the ski lifts stop (for more than one day), if you break your skis and legal defence costs (under certain conditions). Nordin Area Naves
Naves, situated at an altitude of 1320m on the sunny mountain side of the Beaufortain mountain range, is an incredible winter games area. A Nordic skiing area, recognised by the Savoie Nordique, with its 40km of cross country skiing tracks marked out for both skating and traditional styles, for all levels, and up-kept every day. It has the particularity of being the highest Nordic skiing area in the department with pistes arriving at an altitude of over 2000m. There is also a 200m long toboggan run for the pleasure of young and not so young. Naves is a very popular playground for ski treks and snowshoe outings with several marked itineraries.
La Maison de la Montagne is open from Saturday 10th december 2011. Open everyday from 9am to 5pm. Information, ski pass sales (access to the cross country pistes), picnic room, nordic centre and equipment hire. 18 Valmorel Group lessons Lessons are given from Sunday to Friday morning or afternoon. They last 2h30m. • 9.30am - 12am all season • 2.15pm - 4.45pm January/March/April • 2.30 - 5pm February (from 11/02 to 11/03/12). A single assembly point, in front of the ESF in the Mottet hamlet. Le club des Piou-Piou is a modern chalet equipped with all the comfort needed for children from the ages of 18 months to 6 years old. The equipment, nap areas, game, sport, and event rooms as well as sunny terraces and the snow garden offer a multitude of activities that are adapted to each age group. Child care and activities are ensured by nursing and sports co-ordinators, and French state qualified ESF ski instructors. 18 months to 3 years old Indoor or outdoor, everything is organised depending on the weather conditions. Outdoor, in the snow garden, there is a playground which goes right up to the forest and which is ideal for all sorts of snow games. Indoor, the light and airy games room has been judiciously equipped. 3 to 6 year olds «Snow time»! A snow cannon in the garden guarantees snow cover throughout the season! All the snow garden team : state qualified instructors, introduce the children to the snow and skiing thanks to methods specially adapted for young children. Fun circuits have been created in the garden : a speed and a turn for everyone. Every Friday the children can take their tests and win the medal that they have merited.
Valmorel la Belle and Father Christmas In the company of Father Christmas, children will be able to enjoy special entertainment throughout the week. Party time for children During the February and Easter French school holidays, there are various shows : clowns, musicians, actors, magicians…

Easter week-end - 7th « Mets d’la Wax » Festival Following the international dimension that was added by the Swiss winners of the 6th edition of the Festival, the Mets d’la Wax association are ready to go even further on 6th, 7th and 8th April 2012. During the 6th edition, the public enjoyed pictures of kayak, speed riding, mountaineering, skiing and rock climbing.
On Sundays at 6pm, a day dedicated to information, discovery and meetings. Information meeting where you can find out all about the entertainment programme, share a welcome drink and onion soup, meet the entertainment staff and providers with whose help you can guarantee a great holiday.
The Doucy Cîmes 2011
17 and 18 december For its 4th edition, the Doucy Cimes will take place over the opening weekend of the season. Organised by the French Mountain and Rock Climbing Federation and its resort partners, this new edition is aimed at ski trekkers and snowshoe users. At Christmas A week dedicated to cartoons! A rendez-vous every evening for a projection of one of the most famous cartoons that has marked every generation since it was created. In the village halls Coin Feu hall is a welcoming place situated over the Tourist Office. Friendly and cosy, it has a library open to everyone with a reading area around the fire place. Evasion hall is equipped with a large screen video projector. Evening dances, karaoke, films or shows take place regularly.
