Discovery Cottage Discovery Cottage hosts enrichment programs for pre-school children ages 1– 5 years old. Our unique program is designed to provide a totally hands-on and kid-centered learning experience that will allow them to use their own creativity and imagination. Classes range from 3-4 weeks, depending on the 1158 W. Harrison Blvd. Valparaiso IN 46385 month. Children will participate in a wide variety of activities: playing, experimenting, singing, cooking, crafting, and learning with new friends! We can’t wait to have your child join us on the road to early childhood success! Monthly Classes: September through May (sessions range 3 to 4 weeks depending on month) Registration Fee: Varies per 1, 2 or 3 days-per-week classes

Ages: 18 – 24 months (Parents/Caregivers stay for class) Come with your child to the charming Cottage environment to play with new friends, sing, dance, and learn together. Enjoy the excitement of watching your child embrace a wonderful new experience. (Max of 10 kids per class)

MUSICAL MOVERS Ages: 4–5 years Come play, sing and move in this class designed for you to have fun! This class is taught by Kierstin Berry, a licensed Music Educator in her 2nd year of teaching. She has been a musician for 16 years and has many years of experience working with children. (Max of 10 kids per class)

Ages: 24 – 36 months (Child attends independently) Welcome to your first class without a parent! With just the right amount of time to discover the taste of independence, Busy Bees will engage in play, crafts sensory exploration, fine & gross motor skills along with a lot of fun! Discovery Cottage KINDER-READY Ages: 4 – 5 years (1 year prior to starting kindergarten) We have a speacially designed curriculum that is structured prepare your child for Kindergarten. We will have multiple assessments as well as parent teacher conferences to ensure proper growth and development.

Class Registration THREE WAYS TO REGISTER Contact us via phone at 219-462-5144 to pay with American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. Register in person at Valpo Parks, 3210 N. Campbell Street, Valparaiso, during office hours. Register online at ValpoParks.org. Registration deadline for all classes is the Wednesday prior to the week your child is attending. A $10 processing fee will be added when registering after this deadline. Cancellation prior to deadline date will be charged a $10 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after the deadline date. Fee Assistance is available for all Discovery Cottage programs/classes. Ask for forms at the Parks Office prior to registering.
WORRIED ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
If Valparaiso Schools are not in session due to a scheduled day off, holiday or snow day the Discovery Cottage will not be open. Cottage classes remain as scheduled when Valparaiso Schools have a delayed start.
