Why would you choose the MBA program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater?

T

he UW-Whitewater MBA offers three types of delivery. You may take your courses all online, all face-to-face, or with a mixture of face-to-face and online classes. The requirements, faculty, and course content are the same, regardless of the method you select. Transcripts will not indicate which classes you complete online or face-to-face, as the program is the same regardless of how you take your classes. A new MBA curriculum reflects what industry leaders say rising executives need to know and the skills they need to have. You can specialize by choosing among nine different emphases. You may attend part time or full time, completing your degree on your schedule. The MBA is AACSB International accredited. AACSB is the most rigorous business school accreditation worldwide, and only 5% of business schools in the world earn this prestigious accreditation. The UW-Whitewater MBA has earned many awards for quality.

The variety of course offerings in the UWWhitewater MBA program has given me a unique opportunity to weave my coursework with my current career path. In addition, my experience has been extremely insightful in the exploration of future professional paths to follow. Working full time in Milwaukee and being enrolled in the MBA program has been challenging at times, but the faculty and the option of enrolling in online courses have enabled me to be successful in my career and my coursework. Completing this degree has been a wonderful experience, and I have gained an exceptional education.

Admission Requirements To be admitted in good standing to any UW-Whitewater graduate program, you would need proof of having completed a bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution and: • At least a 2.75 (on a 4.00 scale) overall grade point average in your undergraduate degree program and • A composite score of 1000 or higher.

Composite Score For the MBA program specifically, the standard for admission is a summed score of: (200 X cumulative undergraduate grade point average) + GMAT = 1000 or higher. You can use GRE scores as well, but you will need to do a conversion to a comparable GMAT score.

To see if you would be eligible to be admitted to the MBA program on a probationary basis, contact an adviser at gradbus@ uww.edu to see what your options are.

What if I completed the GRE, not the GMAT? Contact gradbus@ uww.edu and an adviser will convert your GRE score to a comparable GMAT score.

Calculate your own composite score using this worksheet: Undergraduate GPA (4.0 scale) GPA X 200 GMAT Score B + C (Composite score)

What if my total score is less than 1000 or my GPA is less than 2.75?

(A) (B) (C)

International students will also need to submit TOEFL or IELTS score reports and either an ECE or WES evaluation of their transcripts.

These courses are accelerated versions of undergraduate business requirements, and when you have finished these courses, you may earn a Graduate Business Foundations Certificate and continue with the regular MBA courses.

Where should I take my MBA classes? 1

Online classes Our award-winning online MBA is especially interesting to students who live far from campus or whose schedules or lives make it difficult for them to complete classes on campus. We have students from all over the world in our online classes, and they bring business experiences from across borders. Students learn using streaming video, online assignments, and discussion boards. The faculty for online classes are specially trained to teach using technology, and they are the same full-time faculty who teach our face-to-face classes. Your transcripts will not indicate whether you completed classes on campus or online because the quality for both types of courses is the same.

2

On-campus classes Our on-campus MBA program is offered at different times during the day and evening, but you may complete the program in evenings alone if that option suits your schedule best. You would take your classes in our beautiful new 180,000-square-foot Timothy J. Hyland Hall using the latest learning technology. Perhaps you will use the student project rooms or the investment center with its Bloomberg Terminals.

3

Madison, Wis., classes You can complete all of your MBA breadth courses as well as a management emphasis at the American Family Insurance headquarters site just off Interstate 39/90 in Madison, Wis. This program is offered only in the evening. The Madison option is convenient for students living in or near the city. As an MBA student, you can mix and match classes, taking some of your requirements on campus, some in Madison, and some online if you wish. All locations have the same admission and graduation requirements. Your MBA faculty will be highly specialized in their subject areas.

These courses are often prerequisites for other MBA courses. Completing these courses will help prepare you for a successful experience in the more advanced courses. These CBK courses do not count toward the 36 graduate credits required for the MBA. If you complete all of the CBK courses, you may earn a Graduate Business Foundations Certificate that will appear on your transcript. CBK courses are: • Accounting Foundations (ACCOUNT 701)
