Planning Your Special Event Catering Services is available to help plan your catered events from an informal food pick up, to a coffee call for 10 people, to an elegant evening banquet for 400 guests. We are here year round to serve you. Your first step is to contact the reservations coordinator to reserve the room facilities and equipment you need at 608.342.1451. Then, contact Catering Services at 608.342.1249 to plan your event. The following pages provide several ideas and menus for your special event. Please contact us for more information about our accommodations and prices. We can tailor our service to your special requests. Thank you for choosing UW-Platteville Catering Services.

Arrangements Room Reservations

Make all room reservations at the earliest possible date. Reservations may be made Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling the reservation manager at 608.342.1451. All room setup specifications may be requested at this time, such as audiovisual equipment, number of people, date, time, etc. We reserve the right to change room reservations in order to maximize use of Ullsvik Hall and Markee Pioneer Student Center.

Menu Arrangements

For menu arrangements call the Catering Services office at 608.342.1249. Information needed at this time includes menu selections, estimated number of people attending, date, place, time, etc. Menu confirmation is suggested four weeks in advance to ensure your menu items and service.

Guarantee

A firm guarantee of the number of people attending the event must be given to the catering manager one week prior to the event. Every guarantee or changes called in after this point will be subject to a fee. Changes made within 48 hours of the event will incur twice the fee and product or change cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations

Notification of a catered event cancellation is required one week in advance. The sponsoring organization or client will incur all costs after that time.

Fees

Guarantees or changes in a contract one week prior to event will receive a minimum of a $25 change fee. Items changed within 48 hours will receive a minimum of a $50 fee. There will be a $25 set up and clean up fee charged for all meals requesting decorations and other specialty service when it is not included.

Food and Beverage Carry Out Policy

No food or beverage may be brought into or served on campus unless provided by UW-Platteville Dining Services; the only exception to this policy is wedding cake. Also, in observance of food, health, and safety regulations, groups are not permitted to take home temperature critical food items. 2

Delivery Charges

There will be a $25 delivery charge for all food and/or beverages catered on campus outside of the Markee Pioneer Student Center, Velzy Commons, or Nohr Gallery. A round trip delivery within city limits charge for any offcampus event is $50.

Wisconsin Sales Tax

University accounts are tax-exempt. All off-campus groups without a tax-exempt number will be billed a .055 percent sales tax. Tax will be assessed on food labor and/or alcohol expenses.

Special Dietary Needs

All vegetarian requests and specialty dietary needs must be called in with the final guarantee at least one week prior to the event. Requests made at the event may or may not be accommodated or subject to a late charge.

Menu Prices

Menu prices are subject to change due to market fluctuations and availabillity.

Billings

Billings will be for 100 percent of the guaranteed number or the actual number served, whichever is greater. The customer will be billed following the event. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Payments may be made to the Auxiliary Services accounting office or by mail. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and AMEX are accepted.

Tips

Tips are not requested or required. If a group wishes to tip the wait staff they may do so individually by giving it to the staff member.

Linen Service

Linens will be used on food tables and for all banquet style meals. Linen colors available are white, blue, or orange; any specialty colors requested will incur an additional charge. Tablecloths used for non-food tables (ex. Registration tables, display tables, and meeting tables) will be an additional charge as well.

Wedding Receptions

UW-Platteville is the premiere location for hosting weddings. Let our Catering Services staff help you plan the wedding of your dreams. Your wedding is a special event in your life and we will give all our efforts to make it a memorable one. Catering Services provides many benefits for wedding receptions. The Catering manager will work closely with you to custom design a menu based on preference and budget, establish the room set up, coordinate room decorations, always be available to answer questions, and be present during the event. We provide china and linen service at no additional charge. We will assist you in decorating the room. We offer a variety of buffet and plated services. We have uniformed wait staff.
