ABOUT UHD Thank you for your interest in The University of Texas at Austin and in becoming a part of Housing and Dining. University Housing and Dining (UHD) is a part of the Division of Student Affairs and is the largest unit, employing over 1,250 full-time, part-time and student employees. We have 14 residence halls on our main campus that house approximately 7,400 students and three apartment areas located in downtown Austin that house 750 students (family, international and upperclassmen). UHD is responsible for all on-campus residence facilities and the University Apartments. UHD operates its own residence life, dining operations, business, custodial, maintenance and information systems departments and is self-supporting (without state university funds). UHD’s vision is to create transformative living and learning environments where students feel safe, involved and inspired to change the world. Our mission is to cultivate inclusive learning communities that foster student engagement, growth and success.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & BENEFITS The Executive Director will provide strategic vision, leadership and coordination for overall University Housing and Dining (UHD) operations and resources. They will direct the business, operational, programmatic and staffing aspects of the department as well as oversee planning, resource allocation, personnel, and staff diversity and wellness. • • • • • • • •

Provide overall direction for University Housing and Dining operations. Build and maintain a service organization that is dedicated to a culture of excellence, and committed to the needs of a large and diverse student population. Work closely with the Sr. Associate Vice President to develop strategic and innovative revenue streams focused on safeguarding the economic future of UHD. Provide coordination for strategic capital investments and improvements, new construction, renovation, acquisition, maintenance and renewal projects for all facilities. Oversee an annual budget of approximately $80 million. Demonstrate and drive staff leadership development and diversity initiatives through programs, staffing and interactions with all constituents. Directly supervise senior management staff. Assist in developing strategic plans that contribute to the Division of Student Affairs mission of serving students and advancing the goals of the university.
