THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT EL PASO DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS The University of Texas at El Paso’s Athletics program is rich in tradition. This tradition of excellence spans more than seventy years with the opening of the University in 1914. During this time, UTEP Athletics has earned twenty-two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) National Championships. One of the most noteworthy national championships was the 1966 Men’s Basketball Championship over powerhouse Kentucky. Today like their predecessors, UTEP student-athletes, coaches and administration are proud of this successful past and are committed to achieving excellence in all facets of Division I NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics. Each year, close to 300 quality young men and women representing 16 different athletic programs strive for excellence in the classroom, in competition and in leadership through service to the surrounding community. Together with your assistance, UTEP Athletics can continue to touch the lives of many Miner fans and mold the futures of our greatest asset, our student-athletes. Our greatest challenge in continuing to build a successful broad-based athletic program is providing a base of funding that equals other Conference USA members. Your support of Miner Athletics helps to ensure moneys for needed athletic scholarships and facility upgrades. When you contribute to Miner Athletics, you are supporting a first-class institution and the young men and women who are proud to wear the orange and blue. In advance, we thank you for your consideration and willingness to assure the future success of Miner Athletics. The Miner Athletic Club (MAC) serves as the fund-raising arm of the UTEP Department of Athletics. The MAC's mission is to annually raise funds to offset the departmental cost of scholarships and sport programs supporting UTEP student-athletes. Funds are raised by the Miner Athletic Club through special events, annual membership, major and planned gifts, and through the donor portions of season ticket sales.

2014 Team Fund Drive The Team Fund Drive is a volunteer-based initiative designed to get members of the community involved with UTEP Athletics in efforts to assist with student-athlete scholarships. Your role as a captain will be to grow the MAC donor base through the solicitation of season tickets, premium reserved parking, pre-game hospitality passes and outright donations. We want YOU to be UTEP “ambassadors” to your networks in hopes to open doors for the future growth of the Miner family.
Goals for 2014 2014 Miner Athletic Club Team Fund Drive Goal - $50,000 How are we going to get there? $50,000/40 captains = At least $1,250 brought in by each TFD participant Example: $1,250 from 5 new donors = $250 secured for each new account
Per the example, each TFD captain should focus on securing a minimum of $250 per sign-up during the summer initiative.
This includes per new account for football/men’s basketball.
Team Fund Drive Captain Responsibilities 1. Generate new money through new season tickets, parking, hospitality or outright donations. 2. Collectively bring in $50,000 throughout the initiative by reaching out to your networks. 3. Participate in biweekly conference call meetings. 4. ASK FOR REFERRALS – this might open more doors for you. 5. Turn in forms/leads to MAC office in a timely manner. 6. Be a positive steward of the mission of the Miner Athletic Club and UTEP Athletics.
*2014-15 Men’s Basketball pricing will be available within the coming weeks.
*2014-15 Men’s Basketball Premium Reserved Parking options will be available within the coming weeks.
New Season Ticket/Donation Process As you secure new donors for 2014, please make sure you: Push the donor sections - these are our best seats and each purchase helps assist our student-athlete scholarships! Push the premium reserved parking – new/current fans enjoy their own space for the entire 2014 season. Push the pregame hospitality passes – each game includes a host bar, open buffet and scenic view of the Sun Bowl. Push outright donations – Don’t limit yourself. Reach out to alumni/the El Paso community/out of town networks to get more people involved with UTEP Athletics. Confirm their address, phone number, and e-mail on the sign up form. o When donor agrees to purchase, fill out the form completely and turn it into the Miner Athletic Club (Please make sure your name is included at the bottom of the sheet). Captains can also call in the lead forms to 915-747-6912. A representative from the MAC will contact them to close out the sale/donation and assign specific seating/parking. You may also request that a MAC staff member contacts the potential donor to secure the sale.
Remember to turn in all forms and leads so they may be tracked by the Miner Athletic Club. Only completed sales will receive award points for the Team Fund Drive.
