Until recently, there have been a limited number of opportunities for women to play basketball in the professional ranks. However, 46 Lady Vols have taken advantage of the opportunity to play past their collegiate days in overseas leagues and in the United States. In 2013, nine former Lady Vol standouts were employed in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
