Indonesia issues visa on arrival for 64 countries according to immigration officials. Indonesia visa on arrival policy is very simple and straightforward. Tourist visas are issued for the stay of 30 days and they are usually not extendable. You can extend your tourist visa only in extraordinary circumstances like natural disaster, accident, or major illness. This particular visa also cannot be converted into another type of visa. Visa on arrival facility is available at major immigration checkpoints at airports and seaports.


Documents Required: Passport: Passport with at least six months validity and two empty pages for stamping. Return tickets which are compulsory and hotel itinerary (just optional). For 30-day tourist visa the fee to be paid is 35 US dollars (in cash). The change will be given to you in Indonesian Rupiah. In the airplane you will be given an arrival and departure card to fill. You will need to fill various details including passport details, hotel address, etc. Please fill the card carefully and keep the departure card with you at the time of exiting the country. Visa free entry is available for the nationals of following countries: Cambodia | Chile | Ecuador | Brunei, Darussalam | Macao SAR | Malaysia | Morocco | Philippines | Singapore | Thailand | Peru | Vietnam | Brunei | Hong Kong SAR. This visa can be extended for another 30 days but cannot be converted into another type of visa.


Visa on arrival facility is only valid for exactly 30 days. The day of arrival is counted as day one. Overstay can be very costly. Visitors can be fined up to 250,000 Rupiah per day. If you overstay for more than 60 days, you may not only have to pay additional fine but also incur 5 year imprisonment.
