The Barbotey rock garden with its natural falls is situated 10km from the town and the Happy Valley Tea Estate which is around 3 kms from the main town are attractive picnic spot. Though different modes of transport are available, walking will give you a magnificent view of the mountains on a sunny day. The Mirik Lake offers boating, fishing, and other activities to the visitor.

Kalimpong is a must-visit town located 50km from Darjeeling and famous for its nurseries, monasteries, and traditional handicrafts which serve as souvenirs for the trip. They reflect the local culture which influences Indian, Nepali, and Bhutan traditions.
