Ancient Beypore was much sought after by merchants from Western Asia, for its ship building industry. The boat building yard here is famous for the construction of the Uru, the traditional Arabian trading vessel.

Kappad Beach

Kappad beach, 16 km from Kozhikode, stranded on the shore of history with the landing of Vasco Da Gama on 27th of May, 1498. Even after 500 years of the epoch-making mooring of the maverick navigator, Kappad remains calm, as if cataclysmic changes had just scrubbed around this spot.

Poovar Beach

You can reach the Poovar Beach by water taxis only. The beach is not used for beach activities and water sports because of the fishing population. But Poovar beach can be visited to its peace and tranquility.
