International Birthday Party By SETSUKO NAKAOKA

Since I started in Language Academy, I have had many different events with students from different countries. However, my birthday party was the most memorable event that I hosted. It was special not only to me, but also for my guests too. Even though it was ten days ago, my friends still talk about it a lot with a good memory. It was my first birthday in Los Angeles, so I thought deeply about how to organize it and make it fun. I usually hang out with my friends in Japan on my birthday, and this was my first

Florida Offers Beaches, Disney World By HYUNGJUNG (ABIGAIL) KIM

The moment I arrived in Florida I was welcomed by a hug of warm, sweet, coconut air. When I first saw Florida from my airplane window, all I saw was green and blue. And during the car ride, I saw beautiful palm trees running along the sandy beach. In several places, I could see peaceful wetlands and lakes. In Florida, there are many famous places. Of these places, my friends and I visited Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando; ate at a Cuban restaurant in Miami; and even kayaked off the coast of Key West. All of these things I did with my friends, which made it more fun! At Disney World, I wandered from place to place with my four friends for over twelve hours. People of all ages and genders enjoyed escaping to a fantasy fairytale world. After dark, everyone gathered on Main Street to watch the fireworks shows. Standing in the crowd, looking up at the sparkling sky, I felt like a kid again dreaming beautiful dreams alongside the other spectators. While watching heartwarming shows, smiles spread across our faces as we were submerged in the magic of Disney World. It truly melted away all of our troubles and concerns. At Universal Studios, I bought a ticket to visit one of the Universal Studios Parks. We tried to ride as many rides as we could during our time at the park. Universal Studios is an amazing, awesome, and gigantic park, so we ran out of time. Universal Studios is filled with all kinds of amusing attractions. I entered Hogwarts School as a “student” and experienced an exciting

magic exam. Even on top of this, I rode on many tremendous roller coasters. Even if we got all of our clothes wet because of the rides, my friends and I had a good time. You can experience everything you could want at Miami and Key West: sweet coconut smells, sunshine, and wonderful music that could make people flutter. Whereever we were, we could hear music, in restaurants, clubs, and at the beach. The songs coursed through our bodies and made us dance enthusiastically. Endless sandy beaches and the sea were brilliant, and we lounged in the shade of fragrant green palm trees. The blue sky and sea shone brightly. A New Language Revealed By MOHAMMED ALAZMAN

A language is one way human beings communicate with one another, and there are over 6,000 spoken languages in the world today. In addition, it was discovered a new language in the 21 century, which is unusual. Everyone is perplexed about why that has happened. There is a village of Lajamanu ,which is located in northern Australia, and population of the village is 600. The People live in a simple way, so they still use electricity that comes from diesel and solar generators . Carmel O’Shannessy is a linguist at the University of Michigan, and she witnessed a new language. She landed in Lajamanu as a government employee sent to help local teachers of Eng-

My guests loved Japanese traditional meal, but they were especially interested in takoyaki. Some of them thought those were raffaello (white sweet ball candies) because takoyaki looked like small golf balls, but edible and delicious ones. It includes special powder of takoyaki, octopus, cabbage, green onions, bonito flakes, sous and mayonnaise. It was so delicious that everybody could not stop eating the takoyaki. As we put them on the table, they were gone quickly. I knew that Koreans like takoyaki but I was surprised that takoyaki was as popular as sushi because my international guests loved it better than sushi. After we ate and drank, it was time to eat cake. While I was blowing out a

One day, O’ Shannessy decided to record them when they talked. After that she realized that children used verbs that came from English and noun structures that predominantly came from Warlpiri. By 2001, it turned out that children had invented a language by mixing with their mother tongues. O’Shannessy gave an example of that: O’Shannessey with members of Lajamanu “Nganimpa-ng gen wi-m si-m worm mai aus-ria” means “We also lish and Warlpiri, and two languages saw worms at my house” It is fascinatare spoken everywhere in Northern area . Cake game is common for Koreans and the Japanese but not for the others. The cake game might spread from our traditions to other countries because some of my friends would like to try it in their communities. I felt I had a party in my hometown with my international friends because the atmosphere was so candle on the cake, my friends sang friendly and lovely.
