One of the many

long lasting traditions at URI is the annual Greek Week competitions held in the spring. One of the parts of these competitions is the Greek Sing. The first step in becoming a member of a fraternity or sorority is pledging. In each pledge class one pledge is elected iresident. This person's responsibilites include leading the pledges to becoming members and organizing activities for heir fellow pledges. Pictured here are the sorority pledge class presidents of the late fifties. The sororities left to right re Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Alpha Chi Omega. Chi Omega, Sigma Delta Tau and Sigma Kappa.
