Every spring. URI holds Senate Debates for the presidential and vice presidentioi candidates for the
next
school year. This year, the three
presidential candidates
were
Cristin
Langworthy.
Neil Leston, and Gabriel AAoncuso, with
respective VP running partners Amanda LaRocca, Ryan Battis, ond Thomas Parker. Eodi cartdidote
spoke eloquently and
with confidence when
asked questions tfrat oddressed tc^ics such
as
Senate responsibilities and how to improve the way it is run. importance of Senate involvement with students, campus activities, and
even
the
government. Other issues addressed included those of commuters, academics. Senate inter-
workings, manogement,
and
leadership/ethics,
with each person expressing their unique and influential opinions. The primary debate was held on Feb. 6th, with the first elections held the following two days
from
9am-5pm
in
the Rams Den. Final elections
