SARA’S GARDEN

Gratitude Matters After being engaged in this biz of flower growing and selling for nearly 50 years, we have one ever-present thought that comes to mind ... thank you, thank you, thank you!! And if these counted years spent had been in an office or behind a screen? Ugh, the trajectory of our lives would have indeed been very different. Sure, we give up traditional weekends, and holidays are generally a workday, and growing and selling plants in a very seasonally driven latitude means no days off. But, everyone knows it’s best to make hay while the sun shines and that sun shines so brightly!! We love the driven nature of our work; it keeps us outside, moving, and near to the plants and soil we cherish. It’s where life feels right. These connections to the garden and plants mean a lot to everyone; it’s the catalyst to many good things. And the good things predicted for 2022 are so near. This season has a wide range of new plants we’re pining after. (Another perk of this job is the sneak peeks into what’s coming your way.) • Amsonia String Theory • Hydrangea Little Lime Punch • Sedum Banana Split • Hosta Drop Dead Gorgeous • Hibiscus Edge of Night • Styrax Nightfall We want to remind you how much we appreciate how fortunate we are to do what we love every day and how you make that all possible. So, as we embrace our winter break, we hope the season finds you warm and healthy and full of anticipation for the season to come.
