—over 34,000 living in Charlottetown. • We are the smallest of Canada’s 10 provinces. • Charlottetown is the Birthplace of Confederation. • Mi’kmaqs were PEI’s original settlers—they called it Abegweit— meaning “cradled on the waves.” • PEI is 280 kilometres tip to tip. • PEI has over 800 kilometres of beaches. • The Confederation Trail is 273 kilometres long and stretches from one end of the Island to the other. It’s open to hikers, cyclists, runners, crosscountry skiers, and even snowmobilers, depending on the season! • The world-famous book, Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908, was written by PEI native Lucy Maud Montgomery.

The goal of nursing is to promote wellness and health care for individuals, families, groups, and communities. The School of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island offers students an interactive academic environment that helps them become critically reflective practitioners, advocates, educators, and professional leaders. Our 4-year undergraduate program, along with our 2-year accelerated program for students with a previous degree, prepares graduates to write licensure examinations to practice nursing and to hold membership in the Association of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island. NCLEX-RN PREPARATION

The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, or NCLEX-RN, is the standard exam you need to write to establish your initial RN registration. UPEI incorporates the NCLEX-RN format into its curriculum so students are fully prepared to take the final exam.

To find out if a post-secondary course you may have completed previously counts as a credit towards your UPEI program, send us a course description in English.
