Welcome to our Faculty of Arts Futures Festival Arts graduates go into a wide range of careers across all sectors. To be successful in a competitive job market, it is important to develop your personal interests and skills alongside your academic abilities.

Nottingham Skillsbank (stall 9) Find out how you can help voluntary organisations with projects such as promotion, web design or communications.

The exhibitors here today will give you an insight into how to do this and make the most of your time at university. There are stalls in Highfield House and a marquee next to the New Theatre — visit both venues to get the most out of this event!

Community Partnerships (stall 10) The University department behind MayFest, Community Partnerships work with local communities and offer a range of programmes that will help boost your CV while you make a valuable contribution to the community.

Primary School Volunteering and Widening Participation (stall 11) Find out about opportunities to volunteer in primary school activities including running sessions on your subject, delivering campus tours, working with families and being an ambassador for the University.

Inside stories Graduate stories (stalls 1, 27) Discover where an arts degree can take you. Our alumni are talking about their choices at university and after graduating. Get some tips and advice on how to get started.

Berwin Leighton Paisner (stall 2) Law firms want innovative thinkers who can engage with complex legal matters. A creative approach is key.

Student stories (stalls 3, 25) Talk to current students about their involvement in all the things that university life has to offer, how they are building their CVs and what advice they have for you at the start of autumn term.

Languages and translation (stall 4) Find out more about working in a core language role.

Publishing (stall 5) Publishing is much more than producing novels. It is a very creative and passionate environment, and requires specialists in a wide range of areas.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (stall 23) A leading professional services organisation, advising organisations, entrepreneurs and private companies from 158 countries. PwC look for graduates from any discipline and recruit many Nottingham arts graduates every year.

Journalism and PR (stall 24) Communication, analytical techniques and problem–solving skills are highly relevant for these professions and they are a popular choice for many arts graduates.

Heritage (stall 26) ‘Everywhere we look, history surrounds us’. With requirements for skills from research to marketing, a career within the heritage sector is an aspiration for many arts graduates.

EnterpriseLab (stall 12) Learn about the practical aspects of business development and build your entrepreneurial skills.

Unitemps (stall 13) Part–time jobs on campus and with local companies through our recruitment agency, Unitemps.

Embedding Employability in English (stall 14) Work–related learning and reflecting in the creative industries.

Creative Student Network (stall 15) A network that provides students with skills and advice to help them find jobs in the creative industries.

Crop Up Gallery (stall 16) Crop–Up Gallery is a student–run curatorial group founded by art history students. Members can gain valuable experience in areas such as leadership, curatorship, fundraising, networking and marketing.

Careers resources Careers skills workshops (stall 17) How do you develop the skills that employers want? How can you ‘brand’ yourself to compete in a competitive job market?

Students’ Union skills development (stall 18) Society organisation, volunteering and other Students’ Union activities are the best way to throw yourself into university life, and are a great way to build your CV while doing something you love.

Nottingham Advantage Award (stall 19) Around 150 extracurricular modules designed to make you more employable are available through our Nottingham Advantage Award.

Developing your global outlook (stall 20) Explore ways of gaining intercultural and international skills to add a global dimension to your CV.

Accenture (stall 28) Requiring both creative thinking and an analytical approach, consultancy firms actively seek arts graduates: hear why from a Nottingham graduate.

Work experience and funding (stall 21) Get advice from our team on how to source work experience and apply for up to £500 from the Work Experience Grant.
