Each module has assigned online reading that is required to be completed prior to class. Networking time and a lunch will be provided. Facilitated by Debra Karp, UW-Parkside’s Director of Community Engagement, the face-to-face sessions include nonprofit executives and consultants as guest presenters.

MODULES: Planning for Nonprofit Organizations Friday, Sep 6, 2013, 8:30 am-2:30 pm

Study the responsibilities of a nonprofit leader in mission-focused planning. Learn about the various kinds of planning a nonprofit organization needs to operate effectively, how to do it yourself, how to work with consultants, and how to implement plans and keep them alive using an annual plan of work. Investigate the roles that boards, staff and volunteers play in the organizational planning process.

Secure the future of your nonprofit organization by learning how to measure its success. Learn how to develop a plan and employ tools for evaluating the effectiveness of your organization and its programs. Learn what you can do yourself and when to work with an outside evaluator.
