The present brochure contains the specializations offered by the Babes-Bolyai University at undergraduate level for Admission in 2014. Further information about the admission can be found at http://admitere.ubbcluj.ro. Please access from this website both the general information on the admission procedure, and the information on the required specializations on the faculties websites. The information can be accessed from the main page menu, at "structure" and then "faculties". For any further details, respectively complete information on the specializations, please refer to the admission committees of the faculties that provide these specializations. The number of places – financed and tuition places – are communicated by the Ministry and by the University subsequent to the publication of this informative brochure. Any further alterations of the present material, provided further regulations are issued by the Ministry of National Education, respectively following the authorization of new specializations, will be promptly communicated via all available means. Evaluation of essays will be done daily and results will be posted the following day. The English language test (for specializations in English) will take place at the end of each day of submission Monday to Friday at 16:00, Saturday and Sunday at 12.00 PM The exam will be held at the main building of the Faculty of Business, Str. Selection criteria

For high school graduates, sciences field(Specializations: Mathematics -Informatics, Natural Sciences), the admission score is calculated as follows: • 1/3 of the baccalaureate exam grade at Mathematics or Informatics (only for graduates of the Mathematics Informatics specialization) • 2/3 of the written exam grade obtained at Mathematics or Informatics or the grade obtained at the UBB Math-Informatics Competition, organized by the faculty (if the grade is at least 6). For the other categories of graduates: • The grade of the written exam at Mathematics or Informatics or the grade obtained at the UBB Math-Informatics Competition, organized by the faculty (if the grade is at least 6). The candidates who obtained outstanding results in specialized school competitions and Olympiads benefit from certain facilitations (details at www.cs.ubbcluj.ro)

Selection criteria

Test-type written exam, and the admission score will be calculated using the following algorithm:

Admission score = 0.3 x written test grade + 0.7 x baccalaureate exam

Written test will cover the subject matter established for the baccalaureate exam for PHYSICS according to MNE regulations. Faculty accepts school Olympiads and a range of competitions for students as a form of partial or total admission, which are available on the faculty website.

One-hour multiple choice test. For the admission exam, candidates will choose one of the three disciplines: Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Mathematics-Algebra. Admission score is calculated as an arithmetic mean between the grade obtained in the admission test and the average obtained at the baccalaureate exam according to the formula: Admission score = 0.2 x (admission test grade) + 0.8 x (baccalaureate exam average)

As an alternative to multiple choice test the result of the "Candin Liteanu" competition can be taken into account.

Selection criteria for the Language and Literature domain, specializations with current number 1, 2: • Written test in Romanian language (90 minutes) calculated as 50% of the admission score.

• The baccalaureate score calculated as 50% of the admission score. After completion of written test in Romanian language, candidates will write in maximum 30 minutes an essay in an international language (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish), marked with Approved/Rejected. At specializations with current number 3 and 4 the criteria is: • Written test in Hungarian language, allocated time 90 minutes - calculated as 50% of the admission score • The baccalaureate score calculated as 50% of the admission score.
