Declaration of Integrity
Materialmente, o Bem Universidade de Coimbra — Alta e Sofia corresponde a duas áreas candidatas, a Alta com 29 hectares e a Sofia com 6,5 hectares, nos quais estão inseridos, respectivamente, 20 e 9 edifícios que estiveram ou estão ligados à produção e transmissão do conhecimento e do saber (para o aprofundamento destes edifícios confronte-se o volume anexo, Planos Directores), bem como, dois monumentos de extrema importância para a história da Universidade de Coimbra, a Catedral ou Sé Velha, incluída na primeira área e o Mosteiro de Santa Cruz na segunda.
From a material point of view, the Property University of Coimbra — Alta and Sofia corresponds to two applicant areas, Alta (uptown) with 29 hectares and Sofia with 6.5 hectares in which there are, respectively, 20 and 9 buildings that were or still are connected to the production and transmission of knowledge (for further information about these buildings please see the volume Master Plans), as well as, two monuments of extreme relevance for the history of the University of Coimbra, the Cathedral or Sé Velha, included in the first area and the Santa Clara Monastery included in the second.
Corresponde, portanto, a um grande conjunto edificado (compreendendo ainda outros patrimónios, como o arqueológico, o móvel e o natural), o qual é representado por duas áreas urbanas bem definidas e onde os edifícios seleccionados foram escolhidos por serem aqueles que melhor manifestam e reflectem a diversidade das estruturas e dos diferentes períodos de tempo.
It corresponds to a large edified set (including other property of archaeological nature, the movable property and the natural property), which is represented by two well defined urban areas, where the selected buildings were chosen because they were the ones that best illustrated the diversity of the structures and the different periods of time.
