It is composed of a set of buildings whose history has been associated to the academic institution, either through participation in the process of knowledge production and dissemination, or through contribution to the creation of unique cultural and identity traditions. Geographical Coordinates [1.d] The University of Coimbra — Alta and Sofia is referred in two points: Porta Férrea, Paço das Escolas of the University of Coimbra with geographical coordinates, according to the system of degree-minutes-second, 40° 12’ 28,12’’ N (latitude) and 8° 25’ 32,79’’ W (longitude) and the Santa Clara Monastery (8 de Maio Square) with the following geographical coordinates 40° 12’ 40,26’’ N (latitude) and 8° 25’ 44,96’’ W (longitude).
