Our showcase itinerary this year features, for the first time in many years, Great Lakes voyages between Chicago and Montreal with visits to visual wonders like Niagara Falls, lovely Georgian Bay, 1000 Islands and a perennial favorite, Mackinac Island. Nicer still, this itinerary is anchored with two of the greatest cities in North America, vibrant Chicago and colorful Montreal with its European joie de vivre. We offer attractive hotel programs in each city for those that would like a bit more time in either city, or in both.

DAY 2 Québec City, Québec

Hailed as the most French city outside of France, Québec is a spectacle of history, architecture, and activity. After a light breakfast, we’ll go ashore and immerse ourselves in the charm and character of Old Québec (Vieux-Québec), the last remaining fortified city north of Mexico. We’ll see the public square, known as Place Royale, historic Petit-Champlain, and Notre-Damedes-Victoires. Next, we’ll ride the Old Québec Funicular to the impressive Château Frontenac, perched atop Cape Diamond.

Then, we’ll explore the fortress area of the Upper City passing Place d’Armes, the Québec Seminary, and the Convent. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure or on an INDIVIDUAL PURSUIT into the surrounding countryside.

Tonight, we’ll gather for a welcome reception followed by dinner in the ship’s main dining room.

DAY 3

Québec City’s Historic Gem

Listed as a historic monument in 1929, the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires is a small Roman Catholic stone church that was first completed in 1723. The name commemorates the 1690 Battle of Québec and the 1711 sinking of ships in the British fleet commanded by Sir Hovenden Walker. The church underwent a complete restoration after the British bombardment of 1759.

Since then it has undergone further work to restore its colonial French character. An active place of worship, the church has also been used as a filming location in 2002 (Catch Me If You Can) and 2004 (Taking Lives).

Scenic Sailing of the St. Lawrence River The St. Lawrence River flows more than 1,900 miles from the world’s largest system of freshwater lakes, the Great Lakes, to the Atlantic Ocean. The river was named by French explorer Jacques Cartier, whose arrival in the estuary on the 10th of August coincided with the feast day of St. Lawrence, patron saint of cooks and chefs.

INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS Day 2 Explore the Québec Countryside

This afternoon, we’ll witness the splendor of the French-Canadian countryside on an idyllic drive into the foothills of the Laurentian Mountains. Marvel at scenic Lac Beauport. See the towering Montmorency Falls cascading down a 272-foot cliff. Stop into a local vineyard for a special wine tasting. And drive through the picturesque villages of Île d’Orléans, a tiny island in the St. Lawrence River. Our final stop will be a visit to an authentic “sugar shack” where we’ll learn about the process of collecting syrup and sample the sweet maple taffy.

DAY 4 Gaspé Peninsula, Québec Early this morning we’ll arrive in the quiet, bayside town of Gaspé on the northeastern tip of Québec.

Gaspé was claimed for France by Jacques Cartier who took refuge from a storm here in 1534. From this seaside town, we’ll take a scenic one-hour coach ride to Percé where we’ll board a boat and cruise to the Rock of Percé, a dramatic natural rock formation just off shore. Then we’ll continue to Bonaventure Island, a former mecca for poets and painters and home of 293 different bird species—including 16

puffins, cormorants, murres, auks, black-legged kittewake, boreal chickadees, and one of the largest colonies of gannets in the world. Back on shore, time permitting, we’ll enjoy free time in picturesque Percé before returning to the pier and the ship.

DAY 5 Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Located on Prince Edward Island, Canada’s tiniest and most charming province, Charlottetown is famous for its red earth and white beaches.

The Covehead Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island commemorates the Yankee Gale of 1851, during which 80 ships and 161 seamen perished.

Penned by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery and published in 1908, the international bestseller Anne of Green Gables recounts the adventures of a young orphan girl who is sent to work on a farm on Prince Edward Island. The Green Gables farmhouse, where the novel is set, is now a National Historic Site within Prince Edward Island National Park. Visitors can tour the house as well as other settings from the book, including: the Haunted Woods, Lover’s Lane, and Balsam Hollow.

During our excursion today, we’ll follow a trail through the same historic streets the delegates walked when they gathered in 1864 for the conference that led to the Confederation of Canada. Then, we’ll drive along the North Shore to Cavendish Bay, Prince Edward Island National Park, and the farmstead that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. Enjoy free time strolling along the shores of the bay or the charming city center before we return to the ship for an exceptional dinner overlooking the sea.

DAY 6 Halifax, Nova Scotia Today, we’ll board a restored Double Decker Bus— with a kilted driver and guide—for an upbeat tour of Nova Scotia’s capital city. We’ll see the Province House, the original home of Britain’s first overseas government and the seat of Nova Scotia’s current

government. Visit the star-shaped Halifax Citadel to watch the changing of the sentry and visit this National Historic Site on the hill hear the Royal Artillery fire the Noon Gun or the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with memorabilia from the Titanic.

Then we’ll make our way back down to Pier 21 and enjoy perusing the eclectic waterfront shops before returning to the ship for lunch and a relaxing afternoon of sailing along the coast of Nova Scotia.

Tour of Scenic St. Andrews-by-the-Sea

Grand Tour of Bar harbor including Lobster Bake

One of the oldest villages in the Canadian Maritimes, the seaside resort of St. Andrewsby-the-Sea is a treasure trove of beautiful architecture, unparalleled scenery, and rich marine life. In the 19th century the town served as a shipping port for lumber and fish, which were exchanged in the West Indies for molasses and rum. Today, it is an exclusive summer retreat, yet the streets remain steeped in turn-of-the-century charm. Highlights of this tour include the St. Andrews Blockhouse and the Algonquin Resort, a Tudor-style “castle” where Princess Diana once stayed.

After exploring Bar Harbor and the beauty and majesty Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, continue to the natural wonder of Thunder Hole. This natural wonder is famous for the thunderous clap that occurs when seawater crashes into the tiny inlet and water is forced out as high as 40 feet. After the morning’s touring experience an authentic “Downeast” lobster bake, a buffet of fresh Maine lobster, drizzled with butter and finish up with a tasty blueberry dessert. (Steak is available upon request for non-lobster eaters).

Enjoy a scenic drive through the park on your return to the ship with a photo stop at Sieur de Mont Springs. Tonight, we’ll gather for a farewell reception and dinner.

Today, we arrive in Yarmouth, on the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia in the heart of the world’s largest lobster fishing grounds. After breakfast, we’ll go ashore for a half-day walking tour. Strolling along, we’ll learn about the town’s seafaring history; admire their beautifully preserved Victorian-era homes, including the PeltonFuller House (home of the original Fuller Brush Man); and enjoy light refreshments at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives.

This morning, we’ll take a ride past Bar Harbor’s charming Victorian mansions and into Acadia National Park. Driving along the 27-mile Park Loop Road, we’ll see Sand Beach, Schooner Head Overlook, Highseas Mansion, Otter Cliffs, and the stunning Gulf of Maine. Next, we’ll make our way through a pine forest and past the Jordan Pond House with a clear view of the Penobscot Mountains and Bubbles Hill. Weather permitting, we’ll finish our excursion with a drive to the top of 1,530-foot Cadillac Mountain for panoramic views of granite cliffs, coastal mountains, forests, lakes, and valleys.

Today we’ll arrive at Saint John in time to see the incredible “reversing rapids,” caused by powerful high tides that reverse the flow of the mighty Saint John River.

Next we’ll visit the Old City Market, Canada’s oldest working farmer’s market and a popular meeting place for locals. Then, we’ll drive to Fort Howe for pictureperfect views of this charming port city before returning to the ship for lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring ashore or relaxing aboard the ship. Then toast the day’s adventures with a cocktail or glass of wine and a sumptuous dinner.

This morning, we’ll awaken in Portland, Maine.

After breakfast, you’ll disembark the MS Saint Laurent and make your way to the airport for your flight home or to the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel (or similar) for your extended tour of this historic city.

Sailing the St. Lawrence Seaway, the 1000 Islands & Lake Ontario Today we’ll cruise the St. Lawrence Seaway to the 1,000 Islands corridor, an archipelago of nearly 1,900 islands, then on to Lake Ontario, the smallest in the chain of Great Lakes, where a favorable microclimate supports a major fruit growing region.

This evening, we’ll gather for a welcome reception followed by a sumptuous welcome dinner.

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC The “Cultural Capital” of Canada

The second largest city in Canada, Montréal takes it name from Mount Royal, a hill in the center of the city with three distinct peaks. A UNESCO City of Design (one of only three in the world) Montréal boasts over 50 national historic sites, including numerous churches, and a lively downtown arts and cultural scene.

The official language of the city is French, though, at home, many speak a version of the language called Québécois French.

DAY 3 Niagara Falls (Welland Canal) Today we’ll disembark the ship at Port Weller on the northern end of the Welland Canal. The original Welland Canal was opened in 1829 and was extended to reach Lake Erie in 1833.

The current canal was completed in 1932 and boasts eight locks.

As the MS Saint Laurent awaits its turn to transit the locks, we’ll disembark and drive through the Niagara Wine Region, home to 25 vineyards and over 50 wineries. At Niagara Falls, we’ll embark on the famous Hornblower “Voyage of the Falls” for a cruise into the misty spray of Horseshoe Falls. Back on shore, we’ll drive along scenic Niagara Parkway to a charming local restaurant before rejoining the ship at Port Colbourne.

Also known by the anglicized name Chippewa, the Ojibwe are the largest population of First Nations people in continental North America.

They speak the Anishinaabe language and live mostly in the Great Lakes region of Canada. They are known for their birch bark canoes, their cultivation of wild rice, the creation of dreamcatchers, and their historic use of pictographic birch bark scrolls.

Detroit, Michigan & Windsor, Ontario Sailing from Lake Erie to Lake Huron, the MS Saint Laurent will call on Windsor, Ontario, known as “The City of Roses.” Here, we’ll board a motorcoach and cross Ambassador Bridge, a privately owned suspension bridge that connects Windsor with Detroit. This bridge is the busiest international trade crossing in North America, supporting $13 billion (USD) in annual production. Just outside of Detroit, we’ll visit the Henry Ford Museum where highlights include: the limousine that carried President John F. Kennedy on that fateful day in Texas, the bus in which Rosa Parks stood her ground and sparked the Civil Rights movement, and the chair from Ford Theatre in which Abraham Lincoln was sitting when he was shot. After our tour, we’ll return to the ship for dinner and set sail for Lake Huron.

Little Current, Manitoulin Island (Georgian Bay) This morning, we’ll cruise though the rugged beauty of Georgian Bay, sometimes called the sixth Great Lake.

Our destination is Manitoulin Island, the world’s largest freshwater island and home of the Ojibwe people, part of the First Nation of Anishinaabe. Coming ashore at Little Current, we’ll explore the area’s rich native and nautical history. At Immaculate Conception Church, we’ll learn how the beliefs and customs of the Ojibwe intertwine with those of the Catholic Church. Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt established his family fortune in steamships and the New York Central Railroad. By the late 19th century, the Vanderbilts were the wealthiest family in America and chose Newport, Rhode Island, as their summer playground. On this tour, we’ll visit two of the grandest villas ever built in the United States. Completed in 1892, Marble House was modeled after the Petit Trianon at Versailles and took nearly four years to build at a total cost exceeding $11 million. The Breakers, inspired by the 16th-century palaces of Genoa and Turin and completed in 1895, is set on a 13-acre estate with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Today, we’ll enjoy scenic cruising along the East Coast of the United States. Twelve of the original British colonies – which later became the first states in the United States – lie along the East Coast. Maine and Florida were originally settled by the French.

The “middle colonies” (Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania) were owned by the Dutch until they were captured by the British in the 17th century.

Williamsburg, Virginia (Norfolk) This morning, we’ll take a drive to historic Williamsburg.

Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on high ground between the James and York rivers, Williamsburg was the capital of the Colony of Virginia from 1699 to 1780 and the center of political events in Virginia leading to the American Revolution.

Located here, the College of William & Mary, established in 1693, is the second-oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Its alumni include three U.S. presidents, four U.S. Supreme Court justices, and four signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Next, we’ll continue to Jamestown Settlement, a living history village commemorating the first permanent English settlement on the North American mainland.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Terms and Conditions apply to all vessels under Haimark Line operation unless otherwise noted. Any and all information contained herein is in effect at the time of printing and is subject to change at any time.

Information contained in this brochure does not form part of any offer or contract. The transportation of guests and baggage on Haimark Line vessels is provided solely by Haimark Line and is governed by the terms and conditions printed on the Passage Contract also available on request at 1-855-HAIMARK. The Passage Contract will be included with your final travel documents and contains complete and important information regarding cancellations, itineraries, Haimark Line‘s liability, health and immigration requirements, and other relevant terms and conditions.

The terms and conditions of the Passage Contract will apply to persons who have booked a cruise regardless of whether or not they have embarked the vessel. Please read your Passage Contract carefully. To the extent that any of the information in the brochure conflicts with the terms of the Passage Contract, the terms and conditions contained in the Passage Contract shall control.

Itinerary arrival and departure times are always subject to change without notice. Haimark Line reserves the right to cancel, alter, advance, postpone or substitute any scheduled sailing or itinerary, substitute another vessel for the scheduled ship, or substitute or cancel scheduled ports of call, which, in its sole judgment and discretion, is justified for any reason, and to do so without liability for any loss whatsoever to guests as a result of said change(s).

Additionally, Haimark Line reserves the right to cancel reservations and bookings in the event of a full-ship charter, whether or not a deposit or full payment has been received, and in such event, Haimark Line‘s only liability will be to refund to the guest the amount it has received.

Haimark Line makes arrangements for transportation, other than cruise passage, only as a booking agent. Haimark Line’s responsibility does not extend beyond the vessel. In arranging for the transportation of guests to and from the ship, Haimark Line does so with independent contractors. Haimark Line is not responsible for incidents such as airline cancellations, re-routings or any disruption of scheduled services or accommodation,or lost luggage.

While participating in activities during cruises offering Carrier’s expedition program and/or shore excursion program, certain risks and dangers may arise including but not limited to; activities in remote areas, animals and marine life, forces of nature and accident or illness. Carrier does not have any responsibility for the accuracy of any information it provides regarding any activity included in the expedition or shore excursion program and cannot determine and/or assure the suitability of any excursion or activity as to a particular Passenger. All Passengers who participate in any expedition or activity offered by Carrier, accept responsibility for making their own determinations as to the suitability of the activity regarding their own safety, conduct and well-being and agree to participate solely at their own risk.

Attending applicable and available information briefings before participation is mandatory. Based on the aforementioned, each participating Passenger assumes the risk associated with any and all activities, excursions and expeditions, included or optional to Passengers and will hold Carrier and expedition team members harmless from and defend them against any and all liability, actions, suits, claims and demands which could arise from participation in any of the aforementioned activities.

Travel documents will not be dispatched until full and final payment and passenger contact information has been received

by Haimark Line and cleared. For purposes of this Agreement, contact information shall mean a passenger’s full name, passport number, address, telephone number (land and mobile), electronic mail address and emergency contact information and any other information as requested by Haimark Line Haimark Line must be able to reach each passenger’s emergency contact at any time of day. Haimark Line must therefore be provided with all information to allow Haimark Line to do so (such information should include the name, address, electronic mail address (if available) and phone number (including a cell phone number if available) of a parent, guardian, spouse, domestic partner, or other person to contact in the event of an emergency. No passenger will be allowed to embark a Haimark Line vessel unless Haimark Line has received all information.

CRUISE TARIFF Cruise fares cover certain shipboard services including: accommodations, shore excursions, onboard meals and entertainment, complimentary beverages aboard ship where noted in the respective cruise program brochure. All fares are quoted in US dollars, are per guest and based on double occupancy. Not included in your cruise tariff are: airfare, hotel accommodations, optional shore excursions, meals ashore (unless otherwise noted), beverages not highlighted as included, fuel surcharges, laundry (unless otherwise noted), purchases from the ship boutique or any item or service of a personal nature such as medical care, massages and spa treatments.

TRAVEL PROFESSIONALS Travel agents are considered to be the agent of Passenger and not of Carrier. Carrier is not liable for any representation, act or omission of Passenger’s travel agent. Passenger’s cruise fare is not considered paid until Carrier receives full payment, and the amount thereof is subject to change at any time prior to Carrier’s receipt of payment. Passenger shall at all times remain liable to Carrier for the price of passage. Carrier reserves the right to refuse embarkation if all charges and surcharges have not been paid in advance of departure.

DEPOSIT/FINAL PAYMENT To reserve your cruise, a $850 per person deposit of the cruise fare is required at the time of booking. Pre and/or Post Extension Land Programs are subject to a $250 per person deposit. Final payment is due no later than 120 days prior to departure. Guests will not be permitted to change travel agents once final payment has been received by Haimark Line Final documentation will be issued after receipt of final payment and approximately 30 days prior to sailing.

All reservations are subject to cancellation if payments are not received by the due date, and are guaranteed only when paid in full 120 days prior to sailing.

Reservations made within 120 days of sailing require full payment within seven days of booking or sooner, as specified by Haimark.

Payments may be made by personal check (USD funds), or by VISA®, MasterCard®. Discover®, and American Express®.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS Should you find it necessary to cancel your reservation or any component thereof, you and/or your Travel Professional are required to contact your Haimark Line directly by telephone as well as submit your cancellation in writing via email to info@haimarktravel.com.

If your cancellation request is received more than 120 days prior to your initial sailing date, a $500 non-refundable administrative fee will be charged per booking. This administrative fee may be not converted to a future cruise credit. Cruise cancellation requests received within 120 days of the initial sailing date will be subject to the following charges, regardless of suite resale: 120 – 91 days prior to the initial sailing date, 50% of the total cruise fare per person; 90–0 days prior to the initial sailing date or nonappearance at the time of sailing, 100% of the total cruise fare per person.

Cruise tickets must be returned to Haimark Line before refunds (if owed) can be processed.

PRE/POST EXTENSION LAND PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS Pre and/or Post Land Extension Program cancellations received more than 120 days prior to your initial sailing date are subject to a $100 non-refundable administrative fee and will be charged per booking. This administrative fee may not be converted to a future cruise credit.

Cancellations received within 120 days of the initial sailing date will be subject to the following charges: 120 – 91 days prior to the initial sailing date: 50% of the total cost per person 90 – 0 days prior to the initial sailing date or nonappearance at the time of sailing: 100% of the extension price per person.

HEALTH AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS All guests are required to report in writing to Haimark Line at the time their reservation is made: 1. Any physical or mental condition that may require medical or professional treatment or attention during the voyage 2. Any condition that may render the guest unfit for travel, or that may require special care or assistance 3. Any condition that may pose a risk or danger to the guest or anyone else on board the ship 4. Any condition that may require oxygen for medical reasons 5. Any intention or need to use a wheelchair cart, other mobility device By booking passage and by boarding the ship, the guest represents and warrants that he/she is physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the ship and orders and instructions of the ship’s officers. Haimark Line reserves the right without liability to require a guest to disembark and/or to refuse to board and transport a guest who, in the judgment of Haimark Line or the ship’s Captain, is unfit to travel or may require care beyond that which Haimark Line is reasonably able to provide.

BAGGAGE You may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge. Baggage for Haimark Line guests or guests on our land extension programs must be handled in accordance with regulations of our ground operators.

Baggage exceeding these limitations is subject to the charges as set forth by the individual operators. Airlines are strict with baggage limitations. Guests are encouraged to contact individual airlines for weight limitations. All baggage must be securely packed, and properly and clearly labeled. Liquid, fragile, perishable and other articles not suitably packed are transported at your own risk. Haimark Line is not responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any other personal item during air travel or land extension programs. Baggage and personal belongings will be taken off the ship upon guest disembarkation.

Under no circumstances will baggage be stored on board without the owner of such baggage being on the vessel. Haimark Line is not responsible for baggage stored in shore side facilities.

Under no circumstances may dangerous items (including but not limited to: explosives, firearms, combustible or illegal substances) be taken aboard the ship. We recommend that you hand-carry travel documents (passport, visa, cruise tickets), medications and valuables. These items are the full responsibility of the guest at all times. Haimark Line shall not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to, such personal items.

LOST PROPERTY Haimark Line may levy a charge for the return of personal items left onboard or lost and subsequently found.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS All travel documents (air and cruise tickets, passport and medical insurance information) are the guest’s responsibility. It is also the guest’s responsibility to obtain any necessary visas and public health documents for all applicable ports and to comply with all customs requirements. Without the required documents, a guest may be denied boarding and accommodation by Haimark Line or the guest may be disembarked during the voyage and Haimark Line will not make a refund or be otherwise liable to any guest for such denial of boarding or disembarkation. In the event that Haimark Line as a courtesy provides information or advice as to necessary travel documents, visas and medical inoculations, guests are still obligated to verify such information with the appropriate government authorities and Haimark Line does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy of such information. Passports are required to be valid six months beyond intended stay. Please check with the appropriate consulate for specific requirements. Security measures imposed by governments may change from time to time and each guest will be required to comply with them. As a courtesy, we will endeavor to provide each guest with notice of measures that may affect them, but complying with any such requirements is the sole responsibility of each guest. Please consult your travel professional for advice on such requirements to avoid loss of boarding privileges.

TAXES, GOVERNMENT FEES/QUASIGOVERNMENT FEES AND FUEL SUPPLEMENTS Haimark Line reserves the right to pass through to its guests (including fully paid and deposited guests) any taxes and government fees/quasi-government fees that relate specifically to a guest’s itinerary. “Taxes and Government fees/quasi-government fees” include any and all fees, charges, surcharges, tolls and taxes imposed by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities including, but not limited to, customs fees, per person berth taxes or fees, embarkation and/or disembarkation fees at ports, airline transportation fees, dockage fees, and wharfage fees.

Haimark Line reserves the right to charge a per person fuel supplement in the event that the price of increases up to and including the day of embarkation. Haimark Line may collect any taxes, government fees/ quasigovernment fees and fuel supplement (the “Surcharges”) at the time of booking, prior to sailing or on board the vessel, even if the cruise fare has been paid in full.

Surcharges will be invoiced accordingly.
