MEDIA POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MEDIA POLICIES Credential Requests Current season credentials previously issued for football and/or men’s basketball, will be accepted for use in covering home UK Hoops games. If you do not have season credentials for football or men’s basketball but wish to cover UK Hoops throughout the season, e-mail your season credential requests to: Susan Lax Associate Director of Media Relations e-mail: slax0@uky.edu SEC Credential Policy By accepting or using a media credential (“Credential”) for access to any game or athletic contest sponsored or hosted by the Southeastern Conference (the “SEC”) or by any one or more of its member institutions (herein an “Event” or the “Events”) each person and entity issued such a Credential (herein referred to, along with the employer of each such person, collectively as a “Bearer”) agrees to the following terms and conditions: General Each Bearer must be and hereby represents that he or she is acting on a specific assignment for an accredited media agency and has a legitimate working function in connection with the Event attended. The Credential is not transferable and may be revoked at any time. The rights and privileges granted to Bearer may be terminated if any term or condition for use of the Credential is breached. The unauthorized use of the Credential subjects the Bearer to ejection from the Event. While within the Event venue, Bearer shall, at all times, adhere to the policies in place for the Event, abide by and respect access limitations, and accept and follow directions provided by the SEC or the SEC member institution(s) hosting the Event. Bearer assumes all risks incidental to the performance by the Bearer of Bearer’s services in connection with the Event and assumes all risks incidental to each Event, whether occurring before, during or after the actual playing of the Event, and agrees that the SEC, its member institutions, and their respective agents, employees, directors, officers, student-athletes, coaches, and contractors shall not be liable for bodily injury, property damage or theft losses suffered or incurred by Bearer at the Event. Bearer understands that sports contests are physical, and that in the normal course of play it is possible for balls, players, or other objects to leave the court, track, course, or field of play and impact spectators. Bearer hereby waives and releases any and all Claims (as defined below) against the SEC and its member institutions arising directly or indirectly from any such injury, including those attributable to their negligence or that of their agents. In the event that the name or likeness of Bearer is included in any broadcast, telecast, photograph, film, video or other media taken in connection with any Event, Bearer grants the SEC (or, if the media is controlled by a SEC member, grants such SEC member) the nonexclusive, transferable, perpetual right and license to use (and to sub-license the use of) such name and likeness in any media worldwide whether now known or thereafter devised.

Media Services Interview Policies-General — All interviews with Kentucky women’s basketball players or staff members must be arranged through the Media Relations office. Media should never contact a player or coach directly. Team locker rooms, and other team quarters are private team areas. Media members are not permitted in these areas unless accompanied by appropriate University personnel. Practice — Practice will run from 3-5 p.m. on the women’s court of the Joe Craft Center. Media planning to attend practice should call in advance due to changing practice schedules during the season. Player and coaches interviews can be conducted prior to or following each practice. Gameday shoot-arounds are closed to the media. News Conference — Coach Mitchell and selected players meet with members of the media in the Memorial Coliseum media room at schedule times to be announced.

Quotes will be available for all working media in the UK Media Relations Office and on the official UK website, UKAthletics.com. UKAthletics.com — The official Web site for University of Kentucky Athletics is updated 24 hours before each game with the latest game notes and quotes from Coach Mitchell and selected players. Following each game, the site will post a game box score with summary, postgame quotes and notes from all home games and updated season statistics. Accessing Publicity Photos/Logos — Media members wishing to obtain photos and logos of the University of Kentucky women’s basketball team may do so by utilizing the XOS Vault System. Please contact a member of the UK Media Relations Office for the website and login information.

Telephone Player Interviews — Request telephone interviews at least 24 hours in advance through the Media Relations office. Telephone requests will be returned when players’ schedules allow.

Radio/TV Rights — Broadcasting rights to UK Hoops games are assigned exclusively to IMG College (formerly Host Communications) of Lexington. Contact Mike Dodson, network coordinator, at (859) 226-4678 for questions. Two phone lines and an ISDN line are provided for visiting radio on press row.

Radio Call-In Shows/Internet Chats — As specified by the Southeastern Conference, no players will be allowed to participate in live radio shows or on live chat sessions on the Internet other than UKAthletics.com. Coach Mitchell may participate in radio shows as his schedule allows.

Video Highlights/Feeds — UK Video Services can provide highlight footage of most UK games. Contact Shane Fannin at (859) 257-9863 to request assistance. Video highlight feeds for non-televised games will be announced prior the games.

Postgame Interviews — Selected players and both head coaches will be available to the media following a 10-minute cooling off period at the end of the game in the Memorial Coliseum media room. Approximately 10 minutes after the game ends, Coach Mitchell conducts his postgame press conference while a player is taken to the UK IMG Sports Radio Network. Following Coach Mitchell’s press conference and the visiting team’s press conference, selected UK players are brought to the media interview room. SIDs from each school should be asked to coordinate any other interview requests.

Game Day Media Services Media Parking — A limited number of parking spaces are available in the back of Memorial Coliseum off Rose Street and College Blvd. Requests for parking should be made when submitting press and/or photo credential requests. Media Entrance/Will Call — The media entrance is located in the back of Memorial Coliseum (behind Papa John’s and Qdoba). The entrance is marked MEDIA ROOM. Credentials are not available at the public Will Call window on Euclid Avenue and will not be mailed.
