Alcorn State 776 MATHIES MAKES HER MARK Junior guard A’dia Mathies had one of the most impressive performances in UK Hoops history on Jan. 12 vs. Tennessee when she scored a careerhigh 34 points, and grabbed nine boards, one shy of tying a career high. Mathies also dished out two assists, blocked two shots and had two steals. Her 34 points are the most points scored by a UK player since Dec. 20, 1987, when Bebe Croley scored 40 points vs. Morehead State. Mathies is just the fifth player in school history to score 34 points or more in a game. The others are Valerie Still, Bebe Croley, Pam Browning and Leslie Nichols. CATS BREAK RECORDS IN DEFEAT OF MISSISSIPPI STATE Kentucky’s 48-point win (88-40) over Mississippi State on Jan. 8 marked its largest margin of victory in an SEC game in program history. It broke the previous record of +31 set in 2010-11 vs. Auburn on Feb. 3, 2011 (69-38). The Cats’ 14 made 3-pointers also set a new program record, breaking the previous record of 13 set Dec. 1, 1994 vs. Detroit.
The attendance of 14,508 vs. No. 6/5 Duke marked the largest attendance in program history. The previous high was 13,689 in UK’s win over top-ranked Tennessee on Jan. 26, 2006.
SNOWDEN ENDS CAREER RANKED IN TOP FIVE OF 3-POINT CHARTS With 176 career 3-pointers made, senior Keyla Snowden took sole possession of No. 2 on UK’s alltime 3-point field goals made list. She ended her UK career also ranking third in 3-point field goals attempted (477) and 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 36.9 percent. Snowden, a transfer from Akron, reached the top five on UK’s 3-point career lists despite playing in just 101 games. UK HOOPS UPSETS NO. 6/5 DUKE IN ITS RETURN TO RUPP ARENA For the first time in three years, the Wildcats returned to Rupp Arena, the home of UK’s nationallyrenowned men’s basketball program. The Wildcats looked pretty comfortable in their second home as they upset No. 6/5 Duke, 72-65, in front of a schoolrecord 14,508 fans. UK is now 21-12 all-time in Rupp Arena, including a 2-4 record under Matthew Mitchell.
CATS END NONCONFERENCE SLATE AT 11-2 Kentucky finished the 2011 portion of its schedule with an 11-2 record, including a 10-0 mark at home. The Wildcats have won 10 or more nonconference games in four consecutive seasons. CATS FORCE A SCHOOL-RECORD 49 TURNOVERS Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 11, UK did what it does best, force turnovers. The Cats forced a school-record 49 turnovers en route to a 101-43 win. The previous record of 48 was also set this season vs. Jacksonville State (11/15/11). DEFENSE HOLDS JSU TO 25 POINTS Kentucky held Jacksonville State to just 25 points, tying the school record for fewest points allowed in a game. UK also allowed just 25 points vs. the Lexington Merchants on Dec. 3, 1974, the Cats’ first season of varsity women’s basketball. The 75-point margin of victory (100-25) was the second-largest margin of victory in program history.
ROOKIE ROOMMATES SHINE IN WIN OVER NO. 6/5 DUKE Freshmen roommates Bria Goss and Azia Bishop teamed up to combine for 31 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four steals on 15-24 shooting from the field in UK’s 72-65 win over the Blue Devils. Goss scored a career-high 19 points while Bishop charted her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, including 10 points and 10 rebounds in the decisive second half. She also swatted a career-best four blocks in just 19 minutes of action.
Keyla Snowden, the SEC Co-6th Woman of the Year, hit a team-high 60 3-pointers during her senior season and ended her UK career ranked No. 2 on the career list for 3-point field goals made.

Amber Smith ended her Wildcat career ranked sixth on UK’s all-time assists list with 425. She also ranked sixth in career games played, donning the Blue and White in 123 games.
