College of Agriculture In 1901 the College of Agriculture was established with a seporate faculty designated. Dean Edwin Ebenezer Elliott was the first DeM of Agriculture appointed by the Regents in 1908. The course of study in Agriculture in the early De-
portment of Agriculture included three hours per week during the Freshman yeor and the study of Agriculture. The Sophomore year included lectures in Animol and Dairy Husbandry, Horticulture and Farm Crops. The Junior yeor was devoted largely to Animtll Science and Animal Production. In t 949 the new Agriculturtll Science Building wos completed and placed in use of the College of AgriCUlture on the campus. Since the establishment of the College of Agriculture, 1516 B.s. Agriculture degrees have been awarded.
Alpha Zeta is the scholastic honorary for students maioring in agriculture. Better than everege scholarship must be maintained in order to be considered for membe~hip.
