Submitting your Intent to Enroll form and your $200 tuition deposit confirms that you will attend the University of Hawai‘i at _ Manoa for the Fall 2015 semester. The tuition deposit is nonrefundable and is applied toward your tuition for the spring semester. Submit your form and deposit to the Office of Admissions by the date indicated on your acceptance letter. You can pay your deposit by credit card or check. Create an online account through MyUH and establish your UH email at the website above. Email is the primary method we use to communicate with you. Once on the website, click "Get a UH username" and follow the instructions. You will need to enter your first and last name, UH ID number, and date of birth as they appear on your acceptance letter. Information regarding financial aid, housing, registration, and other updates will be sent to your UH email. The priority deadline to apply for financial aid falls on March 1 of each year. Even if you miss the deadline, you can still apply to take advantage of what is available. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov. Once completed, you will be able to view your financial aid status and awards through your MyUH account under the "Financial Aid" section. Scholarships can also help you to pay for college and they don't have to be repaid. You can search for scholarships on the financial aid website. APPLY FOR STUDENT HOUSING

If you are interested in living on campus you can submit a housing application through the Student Housing Services website. You must submit a $25 non-refundable application fee with your housing application. We cannot process your application without this fee. To apply, we require your UH ID Number (found on your acceptance letter). If we assign you a housing placement, you will receive a notice in your hawaii.edu email account with a room contract offer. To accept the housing offer, we must receive your housing deposit in the student housing office by the date specified. You should not send your room payments until we offer you a contract. We will provide details concerning payment in the electronic notification to your hawaii.edu email. Students in the residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan each semester. There are a number of different meal plans available and selecting a meal plan is part of the housing application. For more information and updates, visit the student housing website. CLEAR HOLDS & SUBMIT HEALTH CLEARANCE FORM

Check your MyUH for any holds on your record (i.e. health clearance, financial obligations, etc). Failure to clear holds can result in a delay in class registration. You are required to submit a completed health clearance form to University Health Services before you are allowed to register for classes. The form must be complete and verify that you have taken a TB test/x-ray (at least one year from enrollment) and have taken two doses of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR). The form can be downloaded from hawaii. edu/myuh/healthform. You may submit _ the form by mail or fax (Mail: University Health Services Ma noa 1710 East West Road, Honolulu, HI 96822, fax: (808) 956-0853) The Medical Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The clinic provides walk-in service for illness, injury, immunizations, and other primary care. Pharmacy and lab services are also available. Non-HMO insurance plans are accepted and discounted fee-for-service is offered to students without insurance.

Insurance All students should have a plan that covers medical services in Hawai‘i. The University endorses a plan with enrollment periods at the beginning of each semester. English Native speakers of English are placed into ENG 100 or ENG 190 based on class standing and transfer _ status. English Language Institute (ELI) Placement Exam Non-native speakers of English may be required to take the _ UH Ma noa English Language Institute (ELI) placement exam. The test is designed to measure your ability of academic English. The results will determine which ELI classes, if any, will be most helpful for you. _ If your English is adequate for full-time study at UH Ma noa, you will be exempted from all ELI classes. Some departments require that you pass a placement exam before you may enroll in a particular course. Others have policies that determine which course you will be placed into. Discuss which exams you may need to take with your academic advisor and register to take the exam prior to registration for the applicable course. Pre-Health & Pre-Law Advising Center The Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center (PAC), is a walk-in resource center for students interested in law, medicine (allopathic, chiropractic, naturopathic, osteopathic), or the health sciences (dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant, podiatrics, occupational therapy, physical therapy, veterinary medicine). PAC is staffed by peer mentors trained to help you clarify your career goals, choose a major, plan appropriate coursework, research professional programs, find opportunities to gain experience, and apply to schools. Physics All students wishing to enroll in PHYS 151 who have not earned a grade of “C” or better in MATH 140 (pre-calculus with trigonometry), or MATH 215 or higher, may instead opt to take the Mathematics Department’s Placement Exam, (also called the Math Assessment Exam) and earn a qualifying score. Freshmen Pre-Registration Freshmen who have submitted their intent to enroll_ and tuition deposit will be eligible to participate in UH Ma noa's new premier registration portal prior to arriving on campus. The portal is designed to ease the transition to college. Students have two options: 1) participate in the ACE: Learning Community and be enrolled in a “set of courses” with the same cohort_ of students in each course, or 2) take advantage of UH Manoa's new online pre-registration where one is guided through the registration process and receives a combination of pre-selected and self-selected courses from a menu. All course choices in the portal will be based on the student’s chosen major and count towards the student’s University degree requirements. Students may also elect to not participate in pre-registration and may register for courses during the standard registration period in August. _ Your ID Card is your Ma noa One Card. It is issued by the Campus Center Ticket Information and ID Office. Students can obtain ID cards after registering for the current semester. However, ID cards will not be valid until tuition, fees and other obligations have been paid. The payment deadline is September 2, 2015 at 4:00 pm HST. Your tuition bill will only be viewable on your MyUH account after you register and will not be mailed to you. You may submit your payment online, by mail, or in person. Full payment must be received by the University’s Cashier’s Office or you must sign up for the UH Installment Payment Plan on MyUH before the deadline to avoid having a financial hold being placed on your account. Parking The Lower Campus and Dole Street Parking Structures are available for student permit or daily parking. Parking permits may be reserved on completion of each semester's course registration. Demand does exceed supply of spaces, however, and availability of parking permits is based on class standing. If you can share a ride, carpool permits are usually in ample supply. Commuter Services encourages using transportation modes other than driving, but if you must drive and did not receive a permit, a limited number of spaces are available on a daily-fee basis in the campus parking structures. Rainbow Shuttle The popular Rainbow Shuttle is a free service provided to _ UH Ma noa students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The shuttle system travels through the campus and the neighboring vicinity, including to some off-campus parking locations. Download the shuttle app "UHM Shuttle" to get real-time arrival estimates on each of the multiple routes. Bicycle Bicycling is a convenient, healthy, and "green" alternative to driving. Bike parking on campus is free and, with more than 50 bike rack locations, offers the closest access to your destination. Car Share _ For all those commuting to UH Ma noa without a car, if you need to rent a vehicle for an hour or a day, car sharing is now available.
