HIGH SCHOOL: Letterwinner at Souderton Area High School in swimming, water polo and track & field • earned ninth-place finish in the Pennsylvania State Championships • second place in the 50 freestyle, third place in the 200 medley relay and fourth place in the 200 freestyle relay at district championships • first place in the 50 freestyle, second place in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay in addition to fifth place in the 100 freestyle at the conference championships • honorable mention All-State selection water polo and earned seventh place in the shot put at the conference. AT DELAWARE: Highly decorated during her first two seasons in Newark, Gillespie looks to add to the UD record books during junior campaign. UD ALL-TIME TOP-10 LISTS: 50-freestyle (3rd, 23.67), 100-freestyle (4th, 52.06), 100-butterfly (1st, 55.47), 200-medley relay (1st, 1:43.09; 4th, 1:46.04; 6th, 1:46.96; 7th, 1:46.98), 200-freestyle relay (1st, 1:33.56; 3rd, 1:34.70), 400-freestyle relay (1st, 3:26.42; 2nd, 3:26.54; 9th, 3:32.92), 400-medley relay (1st, 3:43.52; 2nd, 3:45.30; 8th, 3:52.48; 9th, 3:52.28). 2011-12 SEASON: UD third all time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.67 at the CAA Championships where she finished 14th. Had the fourth best time in school history in the 100-yard freestyle with a team high time of 52.06 at the CAA Championships. Swam the third leg for the team that holds the best mark in school history in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.56 at the CAA championships, where they placed fifth. Competed at the U.S. Winter Nationals in the 100-yard butterfly event. Swam the third leg for the team that holds the fourth best time in school history in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:46.04. Was a part of the team that placed second in the record books in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:26.54. AT DELAWARE: Second-year swimmer will give the Hens quality depth in the freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley events. UD ALL-TIME TOP 10 LISTS: 400-IM (6th 4:32.11). 2011-12 SEASON: Swam the 6th fastest time in school history with a time of 4:32.11 in the 400-yard individual medley at the CAA Championships finishing 20th. Finished thirteenth all time in UD history in the 200-yard individual medley while placing 26th at the CAA Championships with a time of 2:08.80. Placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a season’s best time of 10:44.78 against Georgetown. Swam a personal season’s best time of 2:30.19 in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Bucknell Invitational. Placed third at the meet against George Mason in the 200-yard breaststroke.
