TOWSON, Md. -- No. 16 UD jumped out to another big halftime lead and cruised from there as the Hens won their fifth straight game with a 6546 triumph over Towson...Elena Delle Donne scored 15 points for the Hens as she grabbed a game-high eight rebounds to go with three steals, two assists and two blocks...Delle Donne had a streak of 19 straight 20-point games snapped as she played through a calf injury...Lauren Carra also scored a team-leading 15 points for UD, matching her season-high also set against St. Bonaventure...Akeema Richards was the third Hen in double figures as she scored a season-best 11 points to reach double digits for the third time this year...Tanisha McTiller scored in double figures with 13 points to lead Towson, while Deree Fooks scored 10 points to go with six rebounds...UD, sweeping Towson (11-6, 2-4) for the second straight year, handed the Tigers their first home loss of the season...Delle Donne, who scored all seven of her first half points from the charity stripe, struggled to find her shot, going 0-3 from the field in the first 20 minutes...However, she led the defensive unit in the first half with two blocks and two steals as the Hens held the Tigers to just 26.7% from the field...UD led by at least 16 points through the entire second half, going up by as much as 23 at 62-39 with 4:06 remaining following a Carra three-ball...The Hens won the rebounding battle once again, taking a 40-31 advantage over Towson...UD shot 41.4 percent (24 of 48) from the field and a season-low 65 percent from the line (13 of 20).

NEWARK, Del. -- A capacity crowd cheered the UD to its sixth straight victory as Akeema Richards recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds and Elena Delle Donne dropped in 21 points in a 60-49 CAA win over Drexel at the BCC...The #16 Hens (16-1, 70 CAA) pulled away from a four-point halftime lead and rolled to the victory with a solid second half...The game was played before a sellout crowd of 5,021 that included VP Joe Biden and Delaware Gov. Jack Markell...The crowd set a UD single game home attendance record for the Blue Hen women for a game that was not part of a doubleheader...It broke the previous record of 4,772 set vs. Old Dominion on Feb. 11, 2005...Delle Donne and Richards were among four Blue Hen scorers in double figures...Lauren Carra added 10 points and seven rebounds and Danielle Parker contributed 10 points and five rebounds...Delle Donne also pulled down seven rebounds and recorded three blocks while Richards also dished out four assists...Drexel (9-8, 5-2 CAA) had a four-game win streak snapped and was held to a season-low 49 points....The Dragons shot just 31.4 percent from the field for the game (22 of 70) & converted just 3 of 26 three-point attempts...Kamile Nacickaite led the Dragons with 12 points and six rebounds while Tyler Hale added 10 points and six boards...The Hens scored the first 10 points of the game and led by as many as 11 points early while controlling the first 15 minutes...But Drexel rallied over the final five minutes of the half and used a 10-2 run to pull to within 22-20 with 2:48 left...Delle Donne knocked down a jumper with 1:39 left in the first half to send the Hens into halftime up 24-20...The 24 points marked the Hens' lowest first half total of the season as they hit just 11 of 28 shots for the stanza...Drexel stayed in the game for the first 11 minutes of the second half and narrowed the gap to 36-33 after a three-pointer by Hollie Mershon with 12:58 left capped a 7-1 run...But UD recovered quickly as Carra started a 13-4 run with a three-point play and Delle Donne hit back-to-back baskets to give the Hens a 49-37 lead with 7:23 remaining...Drexel never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.

NEWARK, Del. -- Elena Delle Donne erupted for a season-high and building record 41 points and Lauren Carra contributed a season-high 16 points as the No. 15 ranked Hens broke open a close game with a dominating second half on the way to an 84-66 CAA women's basketball triumph over Hofstra at the BCC...Delaware (17-1, 8-0 CAA), which won its seventh straight victory despite trailing by nine points in the first half, reeled off 14 straight points to break a 55-55 tie midway through the second half and cruised to the win...Delle Donne, who hit on 14 of a careerhigh tying 29 shots from the field, added a game-high 15 rebounds, and dished out five assists, and Carra each drained a three-pointer during the pivotal stretch...Following the 14-0 run that gave the Hens a 69-55 lead, Hofstra never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way...The nation’s leading scorer at 27.9 points per game, Delle Donne surpassed her previous season-high and previous BCC record of 40 points scored vs. Penn State on Nov. 17 and her 40 points vs. George Mason on the road on Jan. 8...She has now surpassed the 40-point mark five times in her three-year career...The Pride (14-5, 6-2 CAA), who had won five of their last six games, got a balanced effort as All-CAA forward Shante Evans scored 22 points and pulled seven rebounds while Katelyn Loper added 14 points and Candice Bellocchio contributed 10 points, a game-high seven assists, and five rebounds...Hofstra entered the game leading the CAA in scoring offense with 77.2 points per game and were held under 70 points for only the seventh time this season...Kelsey Buchanan came off the bench to score a career-high nine points and Danielle Parker added eight points and eight rebounds for UD...The Hens held a commanding 48-25 edge on the boards, dished out 17 assists, shot 18 of 22 from the foul line, and were just under 50 percent shooting from the field for the game, hitting 31 of 65 shots...UD shot 51 percent from the field (16 of 31) in the first half but found itself tied at 37-37 at the break an intense first half...The Hens never held the lead outright and the Pride led by as many as nine points at 19-10 after a three-pointer by Katelyn Loper with 11:25 left in the stanza.
