FIRST LOSS: UConn suffered its first loss of the 2013-14 season on Dec. 18, bowing to Stanford, 53-51, at the XL Center in Hartford. The teams see-sawed back and forth with the lead until two consecutive buckets gave Stanford some breathing room, 52-49, with 3:33 to go. The game game down to the wire and was not decided until a three-point attempt at the buzzer by UConn sophomore Omar Calhoun was just short.
