-As a center for Stephenson High School, was part of a 9-2 Jaguars team in 2010 that advanced to the Georgia Class 5A playoffs -Coached by Ron Gartrell at Stephenson -Rivals, ESPN and Scout rated him with three stars, and as a center was rated No. 9 nationally by ESPN, No. 11 by Scout and No. 12 by Rivals -Also the No. 47 overall prospect on Rivals’ Georgia 2011 Postseason Top 85 -Was a 2010 Associated Press First Team All-State selection -Named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Class AAAAA All-State Honorable Mention Team and to the DeKalb County All-Area First Team -After attending the National Underclassmen Combine in Atlanta in March 2010, was named one of the event’s standout prospects for 2011 signing day -Won the Strongest Man Award at the camp for bench-pressing 185 pounds 30 times amongst other feats -Would later be listed among top performers from among a collection of several NUC camps in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Jacksonville -Also earned strongest man recognition at the NUC camp -Chose UCF over offers from Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, USF and Middle Tennessee
