Mayoral Fellows put their management talent to work on special projects and policy initiatives in economic development, green energy, education and the arts for Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. The program is patterned after the White House Fellows Program in Washington, D.C.

A UC Davis MBA team won first prize in the 2012 Walmart Better Living Business Plan Challenge. Their innovation: GoodKoz, an e-commerce site to help nonprofits fundraise online. International Study Trip course opens a window to global business. After a quarter-long study of a region, students take lessons learned on a two-week tour with site visits and executive meetings. Recent trips included Hungary and the Czech Republic, China, Vietnam, Ecuador and Panama, Germany, and Italy and Turkey— including a stop at the Maserati factory. .
