Career history: 1996 – present. 2010 - Present: Self Employed Consultancy. Consultancy with BQ (Business Quarter) magazine. Launched into Scotland in September 2010, I was hired to introduce BQ into the Scottish business community both editorially and commercially. BQ is now on its’ sixteenth edition (quarterly) and has become widely accepted as a top quality business read.

Launched and maintain www.openscotlandmag.com as a leading community based site for Scotland’s innovation community.

Launched Innovator Scotland magazine. Appointed Editor, ensuring ‘on message’ with the aims and ambitions of Innovator Scotland. Helping clients craft their message/stories to the innovation community. Editorial liaison, selling advertising and sponsorship to both business and academia. Innovator Scotland attracted many positive comments for its niche coverage of innovators and their innovation across all business and university domains.

2000 – September 2010: Advertising Sales Manager Scottish Business Insider magazine and Business7 newspaper: I joined Scottish Business Insider Publications as their Senior Account Manager responsible for key accounts and generating new business. I was also tasked with generating business from the national London agencies. After one year I was promoted to Advertising Sales Manager for Scottish Business Insider and its affiliated publications. I was not only selling advertising in the magazines but also sponsorship packages for the business dinners/awards we managed at the time – Scotland’s PLC Awards, Deals & Dealmakers and the prestigious Corporate Elite. In 2004 Trinity Mirror instigated a portfolio sell across all their Scottish titles. I then became Manager for Insider magazine and Business7 newspaper I was also responsible for my own clients - these included: Ÿ Royal Bank of Scotland Ÿ Lloyds Banking Group Ÿ Scottish Government Ÿ Scottish Enterprise Ÿ Corporate Legal Firms Ÿ Accountancy Firms Ÿ Scottish and London/Manchester advertising agencies Ÿ Many other key spending accounts Managing a team of four - six sales people I worked very closely with all other departments involved in the sales, editorial and production process this included the magazine in Edinburgh and newspapers in Glasgow.

1996 – 2000 Scotsman Publications ltd. Senior Business Advertising Executive: Responsible for Key Accounts, New Business, Legal Firms, IT/E-commerce Companies and Special Report advertising within The Scotsman. The majority of my personal business was generated from Special Report advertising sold to new advertisers. I also initiated and maintained relationships with 'Blue Chip' companies e.g., Scotland's top Legal Firms and large Multinational Companies.
