Laboratories worldwide test ergonomics and safety as well as functionality and suitability for use: We scrutinize an extremely wide range of products, including furniture and household appliances as well as textiles and toys. Added to that are products such as motor pumps, cables and solar panels, but also automotive tires and medical devices.

Who is TÜV Rheinland? We are a worldwide leading independent provider of inspection and testing services with a tradition going back nearly 150 years. More than 21,000 specialists work for the Group the world over. We strive for quality and safety in the interaction between people, technology and the environment. Our decisive edge is the tremendous technical expertise that we bring to bear in meaningful ways.

Committed to sustainability: Since 2006, TÜV Rheinland has supported the Global Compact between companies and the United Nations. At its core lies the concept of sustainability – and therefore compliance with fundamental values relative to human rights, corruption and also environmental protection.

accreditations have been granted to TÜV Rheinland worldwide. From occupational safety to rail technology approval management, each of these “Licenses to inspect, test and certify” confirms that we are able and authorized to provide certain services. To that end, we are regularly audited by an extremely wide range of accreditation bodies the world over.

Engine for a modern society Technological progress has played an important role during major developments in human history. Our services provide orientation and foster reliability. This means that TÜV Rheinland makes the future safer and improves the quality of life. Five examples:

Identifying what’s faulty In less than 60 seconds, it scans the actual state and analyzes irregularities down to the micrometer range, whether these are dents, bumps or scratches. The vehicle scanner developed in our MOBILITY Business Stream makes it possible to compile automatic damage reports about the condition of motor vehicle surfaces – for leasing firms and insurance companies, for example. In the future, the scanner will also use artificial intelligence to help estimate losses and repair costs.

What drives us The people at TÜV Rheinland are united by their passion for safety. We want to become the world’s best sustainable and independent provider of testing and inspection services. Our corporate values pave the way for us: Integrity, excellence, customer orientation, performance, and agility.

Showing what matters Ticket sales, merchandising, catering: Professional soccer is a prime example of a sector where infrastructure management enhances the spectators’ experience – and as a result, the event organizer’s revenues as well. That’s why our SYSTEMS Business Stream worked together with SLC Management GmbH to develop the “Certified Service Quality – Sports” standard. It is based on satisfaction surveys and evaluation methods such as “mystery checks” – in combination with behind-thescenes audits. In Germany’s “Bundesliga” national soccer league, clubs such as FC Bayern Munich and the 1st FC Cologne use the standard. In China’s Super League, Shandong Luneng and others have been certified.

Developing what’s sustainable For its energy revolution, the emirate of Dubai is turning to the sun and our PRODUCTS Business Stream: We provide support for the planning and construction of both a photovoltaic laboratory and an outdoor test field for measuring the energy yield of solar modules. This research facility is located alongside an innovation center (diagram: small tower) at the Mohammed-bin-Rashid-Al-Maktoum solar park, the largest in the region. Along with several million solar modules, a 262-meter-high solar tower for concentrating solar radiation is also under construction there.

Train on what’s new Digital transformation is radically changing business models and working methods in the business world. Those who understand and adapt to what’s new can succeed. With that in mind, our ACADEMY & LIFE CARE Business Stream is ready to assist companies and talented young professionals. Among other things, we offer – as a partner of Microsoft Germany – training courses based on the cloud computing platform “Microsoft Azure” that cover the most important drivers of digitalization. They include not only cloud solutions, but also artificial intelligence and data science.

Protecting what’s important In industry, cybersecurity operates in a continuously changing environment. Companies must be able to promptly identify and deflect attacks against their critical facilities and control systems. To that end, our customers – including a producer of oil and natural gas – are increasingly relying on a “Security Operations Center” (SOC). As a central security control center, the SOC enables the early identification of possible cyber attacks against IT infrastructure. Our INDUSTRIAL SERVICES & CYBERSECURITY Business Stream supports the design and operation of such SOCs.
