Templeton Branch will be OPEN in August Templeton Branch Thursday meeting

B.L.A.S.T. 2015 - April 3rd to April 6th, 2015

Templeton S.R. Branch will be OPEN in August

For our 5th Annual Easter Long Weekend, the price is held at $225. Congratulations to Stroke Survivors “Building Life After Stroke Together” fundraising to make it so. Thanks to all the individuals who believe in the benefit from our magical event who have contributed through the years allowing BLAST Turtles to stay ahead of the inflation race.

Typical Templeton Turtles would like to try something different. This year we are staying open in August. We would like to invite members from other branches to come and join us, Thursdays in the Activity Room, Templeton Park Pool Building, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at 700 Templeton Drive, Vancouver.

We can also maintain our Early Bird discount, $25 off booking before November 30th, 2014. This year, we prefer the total fee of $200 received before the deadline. Full refunds will be given up to registration deadline, March 6th, 2015 Most likely, we will be forced to raise prices next year. Unfortunately, we are not registered to offer charitable receipts for income tax purposes. Registration begins in September (2014). Forms will be available from TurtleTalk.ca Please spread the word and help people who do not have internet access. More information and the opportunity to meet our BLAST Ambassadors is available by joining us for dinner at the Moulin Rouge (near PNE) on the 15th of every month. There are no holidays, weekends, or time off from stroke recovery. There are good days and bad days. For many of us, the good days mean we can attend our branch meetings. At Templeton S.R. meetings (and BLAST) we are like family. Support for each other reaches far beyond the program structure.

Attendance tends to drop over the summer and it’s debatable whether it will be worthwhile staying open. So, we’ll give it a go and see what happens. Unfortunately, official notice via SRABC provincial office didn’t get out prior to summer closing for many local branches. We’re depending on the grapevine to get the word out. It’s an open house for stroke survivors, caregivers, friends and extra volunteers. We will not receive extra funding and our regular lunch program maybe altered so charge may vary (around $5). Hopefully, Handy Dart will cooperate. Perhaps sharing a Taxi, Driving Miss Daisy or together by bus might be feasible. It would be appreciated to give us a heads up if you plan on coming. Templeton Turtles’ August open house is made possible by Templeton Stroke Recovery Branch and in the spirit of Building Life After Stroke Together stepping up to create what we need to help each other. Everybody can do something for someone. Debbie Chow Deb@templetonstrokerecovery.com
