Give Back! Allegheny County Disability Awareness
By completing a Disability Awareness program, you can increase your awareness of the barriers faced by people with disabilities, helping others to act with greater compassion and inclusiveness toward those who are different from you. Upon completion of this program, you will earn the Council’s Own Disability Awareness badge developed by Girl Scouts Eastern Missouri. It’s a Family Reunion: Pittsburgh Marathon, Kids Marathon
Join other volunteers in ensuring that all of the young runners who bravely tackle the course without their parents get reunited with them at the finish line. Girl Scout volunteers will staff the “Family Reunion Area.” Troops must ensure that proper adult/girl ratios are maintained. Individual girl members must be accompanied by a responsible adult at least 18 years of age. Participants will receive a T-shirt and patch. Girl Grades: 10-12 (girls must be at least 16 years of age by day of event) Date/Time: Saturday, May 5 • 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Location: North Shore, Pittsburgh Cost: $2 per person

Grow Your Garden — SERIES
Plant and maintain the GSWPA Edinboro Office’s garden. Plan out what you would like to grow and order your seeds. Plant your produce, make bird feeders, learn all about butterflies, maintain your garden and make something delicious from your harvest! Surplus may be donated to local food banks. Girls Grades: K-3 Part 1: Sunday, April 22 • 2-4 p.m. Part 2: Sunday, May 20 • 2-4 p.m. Part 3: Sunday, July 29 • 2-4 p.m. Part 4: Sunday, Aug. 26 • 2-4 p.m. Location: Activity Wing, GSWPA Edinboro Office Cost: $25 per girl for the series/$7 per girl per part/ $2 per adult for Part 3 (all other parts free for adults)
Fayette County Prepare for Success
Prepare for the future! Play fun clothing games, enjoy a snack, conduct mock interviews and talk about women in the workplace. Learn about professionalism, dress attire for the workplace and giving back to the community. A patch is included in the cost. Come out and help hundreds of courageous kids stay on the course as they take part in the Kids Marathon. By serving as a Course Marshall, Girl Scout volunteers will provide encouragement and motivation for the young runners while also helping to ensure their safety. Troops must ensure that proper adult/girl ratios are maintained. Individual girl members must be accompanied by a responsible adult of at least 18 years of age. Participants will receive a T-shirt and patch. Calling all Girl Scout Juniors and bridging Juniors to come out and help keep the runners hydrated. Responsible Girl Scouts are needed to distribute water in cups at the midway point of the course. Girls will be asked to set up the water tables, keep the cups filled and clean up once the race is completed. Troops must ensure that proper adult/girl ratios are maintained. Individual girl members must be accompanied by a responsible adult at least 18 years of age. Participants will receive a T-shirt and patch. Girl Grades: 3-5 (girls must be at least 8 years of age by day of event) Date/Time: Saturday, May 5 • 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Location: North Shore, Pittsburgh Cost: $2 per person
