Our Chalet Swiss Challenge 2015! Discover the magic of the first WAGGGS World Centre, Our Chalet. Explore the Swiss Alps and challenge yourself through a variety of outdoor activities, while savoring Swiss culture, learning about leadership and environmental issues, and making new friends in an international Guiding and Scouting environment. Who: Girl Scouts Ages 14-18 When: Aug 6-14, 2015 How Much: $4,750 per girl (*girls/advisors may choose to add options) Important Dates: Dec. 31, 2013 – Girl trip application due to council with $100 refundable application fee. (Must be postmarked by December 31, 2013.) Jan. 31, 2014 – Girl participants announced Feb. 10, 2014 – $250 Non-refundable deposit due for accepted girl participants.
Indoor Accommodation and Catering This package offers eight nights in Our Chalet indoor accommodation, including: • all meals during your stay (breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal). • luggage transfers from Adelboden Oey bus stop to and from Our Chalet.
Day Programs
Please note: Adults and youth will have separate rooms and will be allocated to rooms which may be shared with other groups.
The event days comprise of six programmed activities: one on-site day, two adventure days, one full hike day, and two excursion days. There is a free day in the middle of the program for you to explore somewhere different in Switzerland, or to rest.
Programming
Evening Programs
The programs incorporate a wide range of physical, cultural and thought-provoking activities. These range from hiking, rock climbing and rappelling, to trying traditional crafts and learning about leadership and environmental issues.
Our Chalet Summer Events consist of seven evening programs. On the first evening you’ll be welcomed with an Our Chalet Orientation Tour. Activities include: International Festival WAGGGS Wide Game, Swiss Night, Games Night, Campfire and Closing Ceremony.
*Price of trip may change due to cost of air travel to Switzerland and addition of optional two-night overnight European stay if chosen by the girl participants.
