Participate in the prestigious International Space University’s Space Studies Program fully sponsored by the Faculty

From 25 June to 24 August 2018 the Netherlands Space Office, Leiden University, the European Space Agency ESA and Delft University of Technology will host the International Space University’s Space Studies Program (SSP 2018). Around 130 young professionals from the global space sector will participate in the prestigious summer school programme. More than 150 experts ‐ for example Professors from universities such as MIT as well as NASA and ESA astronauts ‐ will fly in to teach varying subjects such as space policy and space law, space technology, economics and space start‐ups. As one of the local hosts, the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology acknowledges the high quality and uniqueness of this programme. That’s why the faculty will offer one fully sponsored position as participant for SSP 2018, worth € 18.500. Call for candidates In order to be eligible, you (1) either hold an Assistant‐Professor tenure track position, (2) are a PhD student, or (3) are a 2nd‐year MSc student at our faculty who fully completed the 1st year part of the MSc curriculum. In addition, you have to commit to full‐time availability for the period 25 June ‐ 24 August 2018 (no parallel activities are allowed during this time frame). A preliminary selection will be made based on the motivation letters plus CVs. Preselected candidates will be invited to give a brief presentation before a jury. This presentation will take place in the second half of March 2017, after which the finally selected candidate will be announced. The motivation letter has a maximum size of one page (A4 format) and needs to include: • Motivation for participation; • Demonstrable scientific and/or entrepreneurial capabilities; • Demonstrable affinity with space domain; • Outlook for space‐oriented career.
