Microsoft Office specialist certification at Polk County High Students at Polk County High School are embracing the Microsoft Office Specialist certification. “Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is the credential required by academia and business, recognized globally as the premier credential chosen by individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the Microsoft Office applications,” according to Certiport. com. Skylar Curtis, a junior at Polk County High School, recently passed the third required master exam needed to achieve Microsoft

Office Specialist Master Certification. Curtis has passed Word Expert 2010, PowerPoint 2010 and Excel Expert 2010. Additionally, she passed the Word 2010 and Excel 2010. She is scheduled to take the Access 2010 test (the fourth master exam) in December. Curtis is the only Polk County High School student to reach this level of achievement. Students that recently achieved Excel 2010 certification include: Will Arrowood, Naomi Bentley, Jacob Carroll, Janada Carson, Christina Hackethal, Savannah Hipp, Emily Kocher, Alivia

Livesay, Connor Metcalf, Amy Pritchard, Sion Roo, Hannah Tafoya, Tyler Tomberlin, Marcus Twitty and Samantha Wolfe. Students that recently achieved Word 2010 certification include: Jo’Nai Dawkins, Eli Jenkins, Ashley Kropp, Nelson Leonard, Hannah McDowell, Daisy Mondragon, Julia Murray, Cassie Silvers, Lakeyah Simpson, PJ Waisman, Leann Wallace and Austin Wolfe. Smith graduates basic training TES Ole Timey Christmas, Dec. 6 Air Force Airman Andrew P. Smith recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Smith is the son of Glenda and Robert Smith of Ragan Street, Campobello, S.C.
