The idol of Vishnu is seen reclining on Anantha, the serpent. It is a rare combination which is not very common. The biggest festival in this temple is Laksha Deepam, which means lighting hundred thousand lamps. This festival is celebrated once in 6 years. 3. GURUVAYOOR SRIKRISHNA TEMPLE: The temple is mostly crowded as it is very famous. There are many legends associated with the temple as it is an ancient temple. Even many various festivals are held over here. Krishnanattam is a dance drama related to
Krishna’s childhood which is enacted once in a year. Many weddings are conducted here with basic rituals in the outer area of the temple. 4. THE TALI TEMPLE: This is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. It was established by Zamories. It was built in the 14th century by Swamy Thirumulpad. The Tali temple is a fine example of the Total integration that can exist between wood and laterite, which is considered as a remarkable feature of Kerala style architecture. The intricate brass carvings on the walls are fascinating. 5. ETTUMANOOR MAHADEVA TEMPLE: It is a very ancient temple and is one of the most celebrated temples of Lord Shiva. The temple is circular in shape with a copper plated roof. The Thulabharam is one of the most important rituals of the temple. People make offerings to God and on balance the man for whom offerings were promised to God, is weighed against the offerings ranging from gold to fruits.
