Dimuthu Pre-School This classroom was outfitted with new desks and chairs, storage, and speakers for playing music. Support provided: $ 800

Kalawelgala Primary & Sirisumana PreSchool Housed in a single building, these classrooms were constantly disturbed by monkeys. Animal-proof grilles now secure the windows. They additionally received desks and chairs

for both students and teacher, floor mats, and books.
Parents and teachers gathered for the annual concert, with project leader Sameera Weerathunga lighting the traditional oil lamp, a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. Support provided: $ 2770

Pubudu Pre-School In addition to new desks, chairs and books, the school installed a new drinking water supply tank and sink. Support provided: $ 1350

Chathuri Pre-School Children can watch educational programming on the new classroom television. Support provided: $ 180
Wanamal Pre-School This school received cupboards and dish rack, as well as new water tank and sink. Support provided: $ 380

What We’ve Achieved Each school also received teaching materials, donated courtesy of Kinderhouse Montessori School, in San Diego. Distributing these materials enabled us to create dialogue with communities about our work, and how elephants impact their lives. We will continue to work together to find longterm solutions to help people and elephants coexist.
