Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo is a motorsport circuit located in Termas de Río Hondo, Argentina. The circuit was created in 2007 and underwent a complete overhaul and rebuild process in 2012, based on design by the Italian circuit designer Jarno Zaffelli. The circuit hosted the 2014 Argentine motorcycle Grand Prix on April 27, bringing Grand Prix motorcycle racing back toArgentina after fifteen years In 2013, the circuit also hosted the first MotoGP and Moto2 official tests. In previous years, the circuit has also hosted events in the TC2000, Turismo Carretera and Formula Renault series.

Argentina Provides Next Opportunity For Dunlop Moto2 & Moto3 Riders To Surprise

The FIM Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships head straight to Argentina for round three after the USA Grand Prix last weekend. Last year was the first time the track appeared on the calendar so with the benefit of a year of data teams will be sure to be looking at breaking some records. Damp conditions prevented any new race records being set in the USA but both categories have new qualifying records set by Xavier Simeon and Danny Kent. So far this season the four races have produced a few surprises, with the experienced racers being given plenty of challenges. In just four races there have been no fewer than two first wins, and the podium has seen plenty of riders with few previous trophies to their name. Sam Lowes and Johann Folger both took their first wins in Moto2 while Fabio Quartararo’s second place at the Circuit of the Americas was his first Moto2 podium. In Moto3 the five podium riders to date have just 18 previous top-three finishes. The tyre allocation for Argentina is similar to the USA round with the exception of Moto3 which has the hard rear option instead of the soft compound that was available last week

RIO HONDO Tyre allocation Moto2 Option 1 Fronts: 120/75R17 Medium ’2’ (Black ’Dunlop’ on Silver) Medium ’123’ (Yellow ’Dunlop’ on Black) Option 2 Rears: 195/75R17 Hard ’3’ (Yellow on black) Special Hard ’4’ (White on black) 3 Wet tyre front and rear, one extra if too many session under rain condition.
