My Fair Lady
Meet Henry Higgins, England’s leading phoneticist, on his endless quest for new dialects of London’s speech. He encounters Eliza Doolittle, a cockney gutter sparrow who makes her living selling violets. Eliza comes to Higgins in order to transform herself into a “lidy.” And thus the duel begins. This classic story returns to the Town stage on its ten year anniversary of last being presented. With “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?” “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” it’s no wonder that everyone – not just Higgins – falls in love with Eliza.
A Christmas Carol: The Musical
Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes wealth is more valuable than happiness. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when the Christmas ghosts reveal his Past, Present and Future. How does the story end? You know that answer! Of course Scrooge recognizes his faults and reconnects with those that mean the most to him. Through the music of Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical), a holiday classic received fantastic new life—just like Scrooge himself!
You Can’t Take it With You
Welcome to the Vanderhof ’s home wherein lives a slightly batty family. Grandpa lives for sheer joy rather than for achievement. Daughter Penny labors without distinction as a would-be playwright while her husband, Paul, spends his days making fireworks in the cellar. Penny and Paul’s children are also in the nest — a ballerina in her own mind, Essie, and Alice, the “normal” one. When Alice becomes engaged to the boss’ son, a predictable clash ensues when he brings his uptight parents over to meet the prospective in-laws...one evening BEFORE they are supposed to arrive!
Million Dollar Quartet
This Tony® Award Winning musical brings December 4, 1956 to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations. Four legends, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley gathered at the Sun Record recording studio, where they’d launched their careers. Word soon leaked out of an impromptu jam session. A newspaper man who was there wrote, ‘This quartet could sell a million.’ This was their only performance, a cultural flashpoint that caught rock ‘n’ roll at the moment of creation.
Catch Me If You Can
Based on the hit film and the incredible true story, this high-flying musical comedy is all about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager Frank Abignale Jr. runs away from home. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer. But when Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes.
Youth Theatre Productions Elf Jr. The Musical
When Buddy mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag, he is transported to the North Pole. He is raised, unaware that he is different from the others, until his poor toymaking abilities cause him to face the truth. Buddy embarks on a journey to New York to find his birth father and discover his true identity. To his horror he learns that his father is on the naughty list and his halfbrother doesn’t even believe in Santa! Buddy pledges to win over his new family and focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
Peter Pan Jr.
Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers, Michael and John. But when her father announces she must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan whisks them away to Neverland. Their journey introduces them to the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and even Captain Hook! It’s Peter to the rescue when Wendy is taken captive by the dreaded captain, who has his own sinister plans in mind for our hero.
Into the Woods Jr.
Be careful what you wish for in this retelling of a classic Grimm fable. The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey and wind up changed forever. Presented by the Town Teen Troupe.
