History of The Keg It was in this community that one of the first Keg and Cleaver restaurants was located. The second restaurant built by the franchise was established at the original site of Thunderbird Show Park, also owned by the founding family of the Keg Restaurant chain. The concept was developed to serve the blue jean revolution of the late 1960s: come as you are anytime and have a great experience. Today, there are over 90 Keg restaurants serving Canada and the US.
