1. Chest: Measure your chest from under your armpits. Include the highest part of your chest and shoulder blades. 2. Waist: Measure at your natural waistline. 3. Seat: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your seat. 4. Sleeve: With arm relaxed at side and slightly bent, measure according to the sleeve specification of the particular garment: (ns) = neck seam – measure from neck to wrist (cb) = centre back – measure from the centre of the back to wrist (ss) = shoulder seam – measure from tip of the shoulder to wrist 5. Neck: Measure around the base of your neck. Or, simply find a collared shirt that fits you well. Lay the collar flat, and measure from the middle of the collar button around to the far end of the button hole. STYLE OF THE GARMENT Don’t forget to take the style of the garment into consideration. Different styles have different fitting; some are slim fit, some are loose fit. WASHING Don’t forget to take shrinkage into consideration for cotton garments.
