CITY OF VAUGHAN 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS REFLECT ITS ENVIABLE QUALITY OF LIFE

uring the past few months, residents of and visitors to Vaughan have had the opportunity to take part in a variety of events celebrating its 25th Anniversary of being designated a City – the first City in York Region. In October, an official celebration was held, and the turnout was phenomenal. More than 1,000 people joined Mayor Bevilacqua and Members of Council to celebrate Vaughan’s heritage and achievements, and look ahead to its exciting future. The evening included an inaugural ceremony for the Order of Vaughan – the highest civic honour bestowed by the City. Appropriately for the occasion, 25 citizens were honoured for their important roles in helping to shape the City. Residents and visitors of all ages are celebrating Vaughan’s 25th!
