LUXURY LIVING AWAITS AT WESTWOOD GARDENS IN RICHMOND HILL

L

ocation and timeless elegance in condominium living can be yours at Westwood Gardens. Coming soon to 8868 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, this fresh new community will offer a tranquil urban-garden setting close to vibrant city amenities. Developer Collecdev chose this location for its beauty and convenience. Shopping, parks, restaurants, cafés, services and even a local farmers’ market dot the vicinity. Yonge Street is lined with boutiques, and Hillcrest Mall is a local favourite for its roster of well-known retailers. Among them are H&M, Sporting Life, Pandora and a recently renovated Hudson’s Bay.

the David Dunlop Observatory and the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre, the choices for activities are diverse. In addition, this year, numerous events celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation will take place in town, offering exciting possibilities for getting to know the area.

So yes, location is definitely desirable – and let’s add prestige to the list of Westwood Gardens’ attractions. The prestigious Westwood neighbourhood is characterized by stately established homes that carry a certain cachet. To uphold that status, Collecdev enlisted celebrated Toronto-based Kirkor Architects to create the exteriors of Westwood Gardens’ two contemporary towers. Stone facade, premium brick and glass will combine to create a striking architectural whole that is truly more than the sum of its parts. Whenever possible, natural materials are used as a constant grounding to the earth. Contemporary meets nature in the overall design, as in keeping with the community’s name, the towers will rise from meticulously landscaped gardens by Land Art Design. The effect will be, at once, harmonious and transformative – like a breath of fresh air on the cityscape. And speaking of air, Westwood Gardens will include sustainability initiatives that are at the forefront of innovation. The condominium’s Geo-thermal system will save on heating and cooling, reducing monthly maintenance costs and protecting suite owners against future rises in those costs. The suites themselves will feature an acoustical wall system designed to reduce noise. These and other sustainability elements at Westwood Gardens will reduce its overall carbon footprint – something that is important to today’s savvy purchasers.

Residents of Westwood Gardens will also have handy access to public transit; Highways 7 and 407 are a quick trip south; and Highway 404 is mere minutes to the east. The future Yonge subway extension is close by as well. Talk about convenience! The Town of Richmond Hill is rich with arts and cultural, sporting, shopping and educational opportunities. From the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, to

Collecdev also looked at condominium amenities with a fresh perspective, playing on the yin and yang of lifestyles and keeping the concept of community in mind at all times. Modern suite owners expect much more than simply a place to host the occasional party. They want places where they can interact with neighbours and friends in meaningful ways. They will find those at Westwood Gardens, where all amenities will be available to residents of both towers. Those feeling energetic can venture into the East building with its sports court and fitness centre, and chef-worthy catering kitchen. Imagine the recreation and entertainment possibilities in these brilliant areas! For more tranquil moments, the West building will encompass a yoga studio, media lounge/party room and panoramic views of the Richmond Hill Golf Club and the Westwood neighbourhood. The thoughtfully designed suites at Westwood Gardens will be graced with outstanding features and finishes such as gorgeous flooring; rich porcelain tile that offers the look of marble, but is more durable; and striking frameless glass showers; and a special “Signature Kitchen” designed by the renowned firm Tomas Pearce with sleek Europeaninspired cabinetry, appliances and stone countertops. It’s all about luxury, luxury, luxury. Suites will begin in price from an incredible $288,990 – remarkable value, considering this prestigious area. Response to Westwood Gardens is already overwhelming from discerning condominium shoppers seeking less maintenance as their life circumstances change, to people of all ages who are attracted to this prime location. The condominium community offers something different on the town’s real estate scene – a restful, vibrant, luxurious retreat that will be a pleasure to call home. Collecdev (Collecdev.ca) is a development company operating at the forefront of innovation. Westwood Gardens is a tribute to the firm’s commitment to build “extraordinary communities through transformative architecture, expansive landscapes, unexpected amenities, sustainable engineering, and a respect for arts and culture that promotes a better quality of life.” To be among the first to explore everything Westwood Gardens has to offer, visit www.westwoodgardens.ca

Westwood Gardens’ crowning glory, however, will be its Conservatory, which will celebrate nature year round. Situated on the southwest corner of the Westwood Gardens property on parkland that Collecdev has dedicated back to the community, the Conservatory is yet another part of the developer’s commitment to the environment. Its design is inspired by Thomas Heatherwick’s stunning work at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery greenhouses in England. One of Britain’s most significant designers, Heatherwick incorporated sculptural glass greenhouses with dramatic curvilinear exteriors. Combined with everything else Westwood Gardens has going for it, the Conservatory will help to elevate the community from ordinary to extraordinary.

The Nobleton Victoria Day Fair is always a treat for the entire family!

The Township’s largest village is King City, located at Keele Street and the King Road. This area is so striking that many feature films have been shot there. The Village of Nobleton is situated at the intersection of Highway #27 and King Road. On May 22, The Nobleton Victoria Day Fair and Fireworks celebration will kick off the King Township summer events season with a flourish. Begin the day at 11 a.m. by watching the parade through the Nobleton community, and continue on to the Fair, where from noon to 5 p.m., you can enjoy music, shop at a variety of vendor stands, grab some goodies at one of the food trucks, dunk the Mayor, play arcade games, ride a pony, let the kids get their faces painted and ride the BillG amusement midway rides. Then at dusk, drink in the excitement of a spectacular fireworks show (the largest private fireworks display in Ontario) taking place behind the arena parking lot.

The quaint rural Village of Schomberg is situated at the corner of Highways 9 and 27 and features a charming and historic Main Street known for its antique stores, craft and gift shops, art galleries and restaurants. The Village boasts the largest Inukshuk in the world, standing at 11 metres tall. The celebration was also attended by Brookfield Residential’s Sid Kerrigan (President), Peter Schut and Marc Thibault; and CountryWide Homes’ Angelo DeGasperis (the company’s founder), Romeo DeGasperis and Claudio Maggioni.
