Your Photos Are Only As Good As How They Are Taken There are many advantages in taking up photography. Just something in the very nature of photography puts it in a class of its own. You capture a moment in time that is forever remembered through photographs, you capture a younger image of a time once passed. Use this article to bring fresh, new ideas to your photos. You can create amazing photos to hang on your wall, place in scrapbooks and photo albums or as gifts for the important people in your life. Make sure you know exactly what is going into each photograph. A great photo will be like you are looking at your object through a little window. You should avoid showing too much when taking a photograph. To move beyond the small focus of just one picture, try taking a series of photos on the same subject. This is better than one overly general photo. Don’t be afraid to try new techniques, even if it means taking a risk. Personal style should be in a good photograph to express your point of view. Try your best to not take stereotypical pictures; you want to be as unique as you can. Instead, shoot from unique angles, and be creative with your compositions. Find a good balance between aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The combination of these three properties will affect the photo’s exposure. Unless you are shooting for an artsy, atmospheric result, try to avoid under- or over-exposed photos. Do a little experimenting and you will soon understand the relationship between these three features. When you finally find that perfect moment to snap a shot, make sure not to move at all when you press the shutter. Even hold your breath, if you have to. Even a hair’s-breadth movement can destroy that perfect shot. For the perfect shot, you must take time and focus your energy on getting the perfect view and angle before pressing the shutter button. Take the time to make anyone who models for you comfortable, and this is especially true if they are not familiar with you. Some people look at photographers as threatening. You can ease their reluctance by engaging them in a friendly conversation and asking permission to photograph them. The simple act of conversation can change the perception of the camera from an invasion of privacy to an expression of art. Experience with the composition of your photographs to create unique shots, artistic photos and perfectly posed pictures. Don’t forget that photography is a type of art. If you ignore composition rules, your photo won’t seem like it is put together properly. For better shots, practice different ways of composing your photos. A great way to warm up before photographing a wedding is to take detailed shots of small objects. It also allows you to catch a few hidden gems of details that might be overlooked when the event is finally underway. As mentioned above, you can use photography to capture memories in a very vivid fashion. Photographs are made of paper and yet can be some of our prized possessions. When you
