Blenheim Event Horse Auction The first ever Event Horse Auction to be staged at an International Horse Trials in the United Kingdom created a sound base to build on for an exciting future. The sale recorded a healthy average price of £13,900 (17,514 euros) and a top price of £26,000 (32,760 euros) for a 4 year old. Quality four years old were in great demand, with three selling for over £20,000 and Irish, English and German selected horses took the top three prices. DJ O’Sullivan a well-known producer from Co. Limerick sold the top priced horse, Kiltair OBOS, a 4 year old son of OBOS Quality, for £26,000, he had many admirers and proved popular in the trial rides. The second highest price of £24,000 was for an impressive 4 year old mare by the VDL stallion Azteca a son of Indoctro, which was beautifully produced by Padraig McCarthy and Lucy Weigersma. The third highest price came from Germany, offered by the Berger Stables, who are regular vendors at the Addington Elite Auctions and their 4 year old son of Corrado I, out of a Heraldik xx mare sold for £20,000.
